I clearly have no knowledge of any recent stories of note, since the ones mentioned in that ridiculous article, and it's common knowledge he has MH issues that deserve regard.

The story to which I was referring wasn't recent but was the most widely covered which is why I drew attention to it. The bolded part of the quote to which I was responding read "he's had a hard enough time of it since retiring."

Senior was the best player I've had the pleasure of seeing. Can't speak as glowingly about his personal life - sadly.

That particular story, from many years ago, was at his very lowest ebb, and he's been punishing himself, and seeking solace since.
His faith is a help, but perhaps there are recurring deeper issues, but the point is, none of us have walked in his shoes, and GAJ greatly loves and respects him, not just his footballing prowess which he inherited. That GAJ has escaped the issues that trouble his father , brother and sister is a credit to him. You'd think that if anyone would have struggled it would have been the recipient of the same name.
I am in no way worshipping the Abletts, but I think they deserve the respect and privacy that any family deserves, and we all have issues of sorts; theirs are so public, and this is the very thing they hate.

The tax bill and interest actually relate to 2009.
So there's actually less than 20 years between the 2 events.

Um! Then why respond to my post by drawing into it a matter not mentioned by me. It's a rhetorical question.

Only someone entirely besotted by the Ablett's would suggest that many of Senior's problems are not of his own making.

It's called reality and taking responsibility for your actions.

Do you know any of his problems? Apart from the tax issue?
Do you know what he has brought on himself, of his own making?

Because vdubs asked you to verify how you know that your assumptions are true? Too easy to speculate from an armchair, to be honest. I agree with vdubs, he deserves some respect for his privacy, not cheap shots from the gallery.
