Hello there hawk fans.

A simple question, or so I thought, until I tried to find the answer.

Did Gary Ayres ever win the BOG award for a pre-season premiership?

I'm pretty sure he played in a few, but just cant find any information on the subject anywhere.

Does anyone know?

The Michael Tuck Medal was first awarded in 1992 to Paul Hudson of Hawthorn. The only other Hawks player to win it is Paul Salmon in 1999. Gary Ayres won Norm Smith Medals in 1986 and 1988.

Gary Ayres was named Player of the Match in the 1988 Panasonic Cup Grand Final in which Hawthorn 10-10 (70), defeated Geelong 9-13 (67)

FYI, the Michael Tuck Medallists are:
1992 Paul Hudson (Hawthorn)
1993 Gavin Wanganeen (Essendon)
1994 Garry O'Donnell (Essendon)
1995 Mick Martyn (North Melbourne)
1996 Nicky Winmar (St.Kilda)
1997 Craig Bradley (Carlton)
1998 Wayne Carey (North Melbourne)
1999 Paul Salmon (Hawthorn)
2000 Dustin Fletcher (Essendon)
2001 Adam Kingsley (Port Adelaide)
2002 Nick Stevens (Port Adelaide)
2003 Andrew McLeod (Adelaide)
2004 Robert Harvey (St.Kilda)
2005 Brendan Fevola (Carlton)

It should be retrospective.
