Nah, Garry is good value for a ribbing. He's basically just there for the rest of the panelists to take the piss out of and I love it! Anyone see his ridiculous fly mask? :D lol
 
There is no surprises here. Basically they are either with us or against us.
Lyon started the whole tanking debate (though he has never had the guts to acuse us and provide evidence), he likes to just throw the word up and keep it going.

Most likely trying to deflect attention from himself as one of the people that selected Baily as coach of the Dees.

Now there is some pressure to win.;)

The media as a whole are really sh**ing me this year :mad:

Recently Mark Stevens wrote in the Herald Sun a huge peice on Carlton being worse than Fitzroy. He then slipped in a comment about us tanking last year :thumbsdown:

WTF is up!!!!

The AFL need to need to make some statement about the media's role in the whole tanking issue as it is a MAJOR stain on our code. But I suppose the AFL are secretly loving it :cool:

The Media are equally to blame with the AFL in this issue, yet they accept no responsiblity :thumbsdown:
 
Why is it months down the track Garry and the rest of the media are still slipping in the alleged tanking issue at every opportunity?

No one seems to be held accountable for anything that is said/ published? :mad::mad:

Surely you cannot keep continually accusing without proof :confused: (even if it is an opinion).

To bad the media dont take the same line with other 'alleged' issues from other clubs? ;).

If your happy with somebody trashing the club then you're fwit!!

Lyon is in a position of power and he is using that to trash Carlton at ever opportunity, i can handle that Carlton have been poor for the past 5 years, i can handle that very well...sitting through all of the 100 point trashings have given me a hard skin.

However for this crap to continue when its a new season and the club has tried very hard over the preseason to turn it around, get things positive i take a gripe to idiots in the media still trying to bring the great club down, when in fact the people trashing the club are no better themselves. Just what has Lyon done in his life, he was an average player IMO and in the media he has no idea....

Did I say I was happy with it?? No. Just that what he said was the truth. The only way to shut guys like Lyon up is to get your own backyard in order first, and I believe we're on the right track to doing that. If we were sitting 3-1 at this stage I don't reckon he'd be saying much. With respect, I rate Lyon very highly as a footballer, and even moreso as a media presenter and commentator. One of the best in the business. The fact that he gives Carlton a tough run shouldn't affect your opinion of him as a commentator. The guys knows his footy.
 
the guys on the couch tonight suggested that if either the west coast or port lose a few more games in a row, they should consider the season done and play all there kids.

Is this not tanking?

You might not have said you happy with it, but you seem to accept it cause he is saying the truth...well that is only partly correct.

I agree with you that its up to Carlton to fix what people think of us, but the fact is, Carlton won't ever be able to do anything right to prove its critics right and Gary Lyon is one of them.

He takes what ever chance he gets to dig his heels into Carlton, for no reason what so ever, for example if you read my first post; he brought up the tanking issue (insinuating Carlton will tank this year if we lose in the next couple of weeks )when talking to Duffy from sportsbet. Reason for this slag off at Carlton?? No reason.

Your intitled to your opinion about him, but in my mind, he has no more idea about footy like Dermie and Jason Dunstall.
