Quite surprised to see talk of the Seniors so soon. Needs more full games in the twos surely.

I'll be worried during the entire game if he plays Seniors this year. Rushing Rohan back into the Seniors with the rod still in his leg, I've got a bad feeling about it.

Frankly I've lost a bit of faith in our medicos, after Sam Reid was brought back too quickly.

The fact that Reid re-injured himself doesn't mean he was brought back too early,

So many uneducated wannabe-medicos on this board it drives me crazy.

I think they'll bring him in as a sub for 2 games. The logic behind it is probably with the injuries web had this year we are running out of depth fast and you really don't want that in a finals series. This way if he gets a taste of the seniors plus a a few full games in the 2s, he can be called upon during the finals and would have adjusted to afl tempo somewhat with a little confidence.

If we didn't have as many injuries , I think the coaching staff would have ruled seniors out from the get go and said just play in the 2s and start next year as fresh as possible

WHat does it mean then? I'm curious....

What does it mean then Doc?

They were actually really conservative and bought him back later than what would be normal for such an injury. Quads are such tricky things..

Even though Reid was passing all the tests they still didn't bring him back straight away. Shit happens sometimes.

The only way they could have guaranteed that he doesn't injure himself is drop him for the season. Well if you want a real guarantee never let him play again...

Just a quickie... Are you Matt Cameron?

Cyril puts so much pressure on the ball carrier tackels like a machine this is what me miss with Rohan cause he carrys the same trait , Jetta doesnt
Well they're different types of players, so yes Jetta doesn't do the same things as Cyril. Rohan might "carry the same trait" as you say, but he's still to prove he can do it on a regular level like Rioli.

I'm being selfish, but I hope he comes back for the game against the Saints... I finally get to go to a game :)

Then again, I don't think he needs to be rushed back that close to finals... would prefer stability over an underdone player... (soz Gaz, but the guys are doing well without you)

As AJ I feel for Rohan also , both boys have huge upside. Gary is probably my favourite player as I think with his height/speed he could be superstar of the comp but his leg just doesn't look right and I know he hasn't that that breakout game yet but you can tell that his leg is in the back of his mind and giving him trouble.
Longmire did say last night that they want to see him get through a full game in the 2s and see how he pulls up , so as we know there must be still issues with the Rod and screws.
Pretty sure he is having the rod out at years end so I just hope that gets sorted because he looks far from right and deserves like AJ to get a good run. I don't really no what to expect from Gary this year if his leg keeps giving him trouble , maybe surgery earlier ?.
Just hope Gary , Reid , AJ can get a good run as all have massive upside and are the future Swans and I hate seeing them injured.

I thought he had the rod out? I have a rod in my forearm have had it nearly 15yrs and it gives me no trouble and was instructed if its all good just leave it. The difference is I stopped growing long ago maybe thats where the rod and screws may be an issue with Rohan?

No he has not had the rod out and wont until years end. I am 26 and have the same as Gary with the rod and 2 screws at each end and to be honest I cant see how is playing with it in , as soon as I get a knock I can feel the rod and he would be getting a hell of a lot more knocks than me and mine is always in the back of my mind when playing sport.
You can clearly tell Garys is giving him trouble as soon as he gets a knock he has to go off , think he needs it out ala N Brown years back before we see the best of Rohan to be honest ( he still had a limited pre season due to it )

They say the screw points are where they give trouble Ive been lucky and I work mine alot Im not sure if its from knocks or the strain as the leg would be much worse, youd know better I guess.

Yer your right the screws are where the pain is most , just hope they get it sorted asap weather that he go for surgery earlier as its r4 and they are all ready worried about how he is going to get through games so lasting out the year will be in doubt.

I didn't think it was a lengthy procedure to have the plate out, in that he could be playing soon after?

Crutches for 2 weeks but playing sport is up to the surgeon and how much bone they chip when removing the rod and screws

If this is the reason he cannot run out games and he is just waiting until the end of the season I don't see the sense in prolonging the procedure. He could be back running stronger for a tilt at finals football.

They might of been hope full just to get him through this year with it in and then remove it still at years end , the surgeon said to me they wanted my rod in for 2 years before they removed it due to the bone being full healed so maybe thats Garys reason also but as Horse and most have said and you can see when he goes off that its giving him trouble. Bock couldn't handle playing with his in last year at times as he had to much pain at times and his was removed in pre season.
