Several people over at the official boards have been asking for some clarification on Dean Buszan.
Today Gary Stocks (Communications Manager) replied, and had this to say:

Young forward Dean Buszan and midfielder Kris Miller have both come off the West Coast Eagles rookie list.

Because the club chose not to elevate them to the primary list, they decided it was in their own interests to nominate for the national draft on November 25.

They both leave with the club's best wishes and the West Coast Eagles hope they achieve their dream of being drafted to an AFL club. This club could still draft either player.

Andrew McCarrey and Zach Beeck will remain on the club's rookie list for the 2002 season.

Gary Stocks

This just gets weirder and weirder.
I find it hard to believe, that both players would take such a huge gamble and enter the draft, with no guarantee of being picked up by another club.

Garry Stocks is a good guy, and has no reason to lie to us.
But this is hard to believe.

I would expect that they have been approached by other clubs who said they would pick them up. Freo must be a favourite for Buz as they are tight uner the cap and first year players don't get much.
I am dissappointed though. I thought Buz was our FF of the future.

But if other clubs have shown interest, it must mean that his ankle isn't that bad. And if that's the case, why didn't we promote him.

It's definitely not a case of Buszan being unhappy at the club.
He's said many times how much he loved being at the Eagles.

It doesn't make any sense.

Like I said in a different post, maybe he just simply isn't in Woosha's plans.
