Absolute ****ing genius.

He hit today's game running, like he hits every game, but today he was ****ing special.

He had his heart on his sleeve, never stopped trying, it would have been a shame if the club had lost the game for him today. Absolute ball busting effort from the little magician.

In the first quarter where we barely had a chance at all and then he produced all that class, flair, turn of speed and had a shot from 40 out, would have been goal of the year if he had nailed it.

Did everything right. If the umpires had a choice they would give him the 3,2 and 1 votes for todays match.

Sensational. Every week he's better and better. I can't believe how big his tank is - I know they talked it up in the pre-season, I thought it was just the usual talk but he is a definite street ahead of where he was. I suspect that's at least part of the reason he isn't being tagged out of games now.

I'll be interested to see how many votes he gets for the week. If he doesn't get 3 it's a nail in the coffin of the umpire voting system.

He used to get a very rough deal from the umpires week in, week out - seems to have improved since he was put on the endagered species list by Giesch.

Absolute speechless..........i thought watching Andrew Mcleod at his best was inspiring, today just proves that GA'J is an absolute gun.Who needs 'akacam' when gazza is pretty to watch.
It'll be interesting to see the robot's on the couch tomorrow night on fox will have to say.

haha, that akacam cracked me up last night :p

I reckon that Gaz Jr is moving up the meter as being a percentage as good as his old man....So often we hear players said to be 'Not your father's @rsehole'!! Well, i think Gaz Jr in his hardball-getting, line-breaking dashes and pinpoint disposal is now maybe as much as 60% as good as his old man....and WOW how about that! Truly it is a wonderful sight to see the young man of the same name as the father stepping up so much on the field. He even was interviewed by Leigh Colbert on Fox Footy after the game, a rare thing indeed! I would almost declare that as a percentage of 'how good' he is compared to the incomperable Gaz Sr, that Gaz Jr may become the greatest 'Son of' in footy history by the time his career is done.
Two things: I was in awe of his old man but he did some bloody terrible things to other players - Junior is a much fairer player and multi-skilled. This year I am now in awe of his talent and gutsy determination to lift a team as a member of it - which I never saw as a trait of G.A.Snr.
Leigh Colbert thinks he is fantastic - and is privately very pro-Geelong. (Some people are slow to forgive). Thought that was a really good meeting of the two on camera after the game.

I can remember going to a game at Kardinia Park in 1996 against Hawthorn (we were braining them until they kicked three goals in time on and won by about 3 points) - we were on the train going down from Melbourne and got talking to a couple of Carlton fans. The Blues were playing interstate that weekend and they said on weekends when Carlton wasn't playing in Melbourne that they'd go and watch Geelong just on the off chance the Great Man did something to add to the highlight reel. He kicked 6 that day so I don't think they left unhappy.

I think Junior is getting to the point where casual observers will come to the games and turn on the TV to watch how we, and GAJ in particular, play the game.

He gives me stiffy's.
In a non gay way. (Not that there's anything wrong with it...)

he is our franchise player things he does amaze me uses the angles so well to get through opposition defences.

Thinking the same thing actually, although in a different way, he is really the sort of player someone who enjoys footy can just observe and love how he plays. The odd snap shot, many ball tearing runs, quick hands in places that outside players fear to tread, he is a great package. He virtually is the yin to his father's yan, just imagine a package including both their talents. That would be the greatest footballer in history!

Gary Senior was the best footballer ever anyway.

Great observations, good onya :thumbsu:

He is awesome. Can you imagine how much better he could be if his finishing (goal kicking wise) improves???? He could be the best player in the comp (if Judd has a bad season :))
