Gary who Buckenera...

At least he was smart enough to Franklin and Roughead instead of Tambling. Probably that record had put him in the mind of those who pay for him to write articles
He might have got that right but it’s quite obvious reading his articles that he either doesn’t watch anywhere near enough AFL to be some sort of current day list guru for the paper or he is lazy and for a lot of players doesn’t think much.

He had Josh Dunkley as a B player and Nick Vlastuin as C+. How can anyone take him seriously with those sort of opinions?

I haven't read his reviews on other clubs, but the list ratings he gave us were scratch your head laughable. Not in regards to the subjective A grader vs other, but in regards to who he rated better or worse than other players on the same list. It's probably the worst list analysis I have seen.
Buckenara on Howe moving to Collingwood in a forward role:

It seems that's the role Collingwood want for him and the role he plays best. Time will tell whether or not he's as good as Gunston or Breust but it seems he's got a definite job description at the Pies

Any casual observer watching Melbourne knew Howe was much better as a defender than a forward, but not Buckenara.

But my favourite...

In June 2016 Buckenara said that Richmond's and Collingwood's lists were bother ''overrated''.

''Similar to Collingwood, they've got too many back-end, depth players and maybe they've overranked themselves as a club as well.''

Richmond have since won two flags and Collingwood were a kick off winning one and have solidified themselves as a top 4 team.

funnily enough it’s that back end depth that has added to both teams ability to have such consistent seasons

when players have been injured be it long or short term they have the guys waiting in the wings to cover

Swans were absolute carp then, not even Ron could get much out of them.

Yeah, nah.

Read Paul Kelly’s autobiography. Scathing review of Buckanara, blokes used to hide in the stands to avoid running lap after lap as punishment for losing. It was all Gazza could come up as a coach, flog them on the track. Barass took over an absolute shambles, 8 wins in 1995 while also being pivotal in gettting Roos and Lockett was the catayst to the sustained success of the past 20 odd years. Those two would have pissed themselves laughing if the swans had approached them while Buckanara was still in charge.
