I recieved this letter via email today! Please read it and email it to everyone!

Last year on April 30, the American and Canadian staged what they called a
"Gas Out" across the whole North American continent to bring down the high
price of petrol..................and it worked!!!

It's time we Australians & New Zealanders took a leaf out of the old
American protest book and did something similar, only this time lets make
it for THREE days instead of just one.

Lets see how many Australians/Kiwis we can get to band together for a three
day period in April, and NOT BUY ANY PETROL, during those three days. JOIN
Australia and New Zealand's GAS OUT.

Do not buy any petrol from April 6 to April 8 2000. Buy what you need
before the dates listed above, or after, but practise some restraint and
put off some things you were going to do and don't buy any petrol during
the GAS OUT.

Mark these dates in your diary organiser now. Send this to everyone you
know and ask them to join in...and do the same. (Cut and paste, don't use
the forward button).

The Americans and New Zealanders achieved a price cut, and there's no
reason why we can't achieve a similar result if we band together and fight
against the people who profiteer from us.

Come on Australia and New Zealand!! Let's stand together!! WE CAN MAKE A
DIFFERENCE!!!!

Even if you receive this 100 times keep passing it around, this way you
know everyone is being informed and no one will forget.

Please help spread the word.

I still dont understand how its supposed to work. Ok, petrol cash flow drops for 3 days, but obviously it's gonna pick up drastically after this period as people need petrol.
They hold the bargaining power, not the consumer. A car will not run on water - unless everyone starts using public transport and ditches cars, I dont see how it would work.

The mere threat of it will bring prices down

You are right to say it won't change overall shipments much but it will make the 'cartel' aware of the discontent

Compare it to colonial stadium. The hoo-ha has produced concessions from the original plans. Continued lack of interest by the public will force further concessions.

If everyone had run round like some and just said "it's a great ground, we just have to set off earlier/pay more/ forget meeting our friends etc etc then the AFL would already be planning our next 'surprise'

Look guys, if you want to effect a change, take PUBLIC TRANSPORT to work for ONE MONTH each year.

I do this during Uni holidays when the buses and trains aren't jam packed.

This will be far more effective, better for your pocket through lower taxes for road repair, lower car repair bills, lower fuel spending etc etc.

This three day boycott that has been going around will change veyr little. I buy fuel only about 4 or 5 times a month anyway as I live quite close to work. I intend to participate in this event just for the hell of it - it probably won't interfere with my fuel buying anyway - but I don't see any long term change as a result.

public transport ???? is there such a thing in exisatnce ?????? come live in Perth "The City for Cars" and you'll realise the meaning of car dependancy.
but dont get me started on Perths planning flaws.
lol.

"the right lane is for fast drivers, the left is for slow drivers- F*CKING SIMPLE CONCEPT"

We should probably do another gas out.

But this time to protest Trump pulling out of the COP agreement.

Not much has changed, especially on the lanes.
