North Melbourne coach Dean Laidley says he may struggle to field 22 fit players in tomorrow's AFL match against St Kilda at Docklands.
The Kangaroos squad has been hit by illness and several players missed training today.
Laidley says he is not sure if they will recover in time for the game.
"We've probably got six or seven guys that have come down with a really strong bout of gastro and diarrhoea in the last 48 hours, so probably a few of them won't train today," he said.
"We'll meet this afternoon as to who is and who isn't going to play."

macintosh, hale, warren and ziebell in doubt..
panic stations!

What are the rules in this type of situation. Does the Club have to use its three emergencies first before going beyond that? Who determines who is in fact ill. "6 - 7" players effected would have a real impact on team balance.

Depends on if the emergencies are sick as well, if they are available they would have to play or else we would get fined.

With McIntosh, Hale, Ziebell and Warren in doubt it is not surprising we have Goldstein, Jones and Harris on as emergencies. If we need more than 3 i dont think we get fined.

I reckon if Hamish has gastro, he was very brave wearing such wide legged shorts out to training today...

I guess we'd prefer to go in with 4 or 5 dehydrated and fatigued and cramping players than.... Corey Jones. :(

Will be interesting to see who will be the late changes tomorrow.

Our problem with the game plan is not leaking at the rear, it's getting a steady stream forward.

Well played.:thumbsu:

Would've played Corey Jones. Edwards was pathetic last week.

Ineffective. But hard to be effective when stationed in the goal square of a flooded forward line. Needs to be allowed to go outside the 50 arc to grab the pill when that happens.
