Imagine,

-All 18 AFL teams playing games in SA in the one weekend

-A week long party where the city is full of footy fans from around Australia

-AFL footy in the Barossa and Norwood

-Undefeated Adelaide (I'll edit this when GC do us) kicking it all off with a blockbuster game against Geelong.

You've just imagined Gather Round 2025, welcome!

With the Sunday evening game being moved from twilight to a 6:50 start, guessing this means the wrap up concert on Adelaide Oval no. 2 has been scrapped? This is disappointing.

What games are you going to?

Will be going Thursday, food and wine festival Sunday then Norwood game. Will play Friday and Saturday by ear.

Im off to our game, Friday night freebie from work, and up to Lyndoch on the Saturday for the Suns and Roos I think.

Very much looking forward to the weekend but in particular Saturday and the new facility, to see what Mt Barker SHOULD have been. I know a few of the Barossa Districts both past and present who are really excited to get out there and have a run around on it too.

Has there been any talk of Centrals playing a couple of home games there?

I'll be walking down the road from my house to the new oval in Lyndoch on Sat to watch the Suns v Tigers game. It still blows my mind that I'll be walking to a AFL game. I wish I could have gotten tickets for Sunday's Lyndoch game but I was too late 😭
Suns and Roos on Saturday, Tigers Freo on Sunday.

I know the feels though, it was awesome to be able to stroll down to the Summit the last couple of years, quite surreal actually.

Ex-pat Aussie, “lifer” here in Japan, very excited to be heading to Adelaide for AFL Gather Round. Great footy trip and work trip memories to Adelaide from Melbourne. Appreciate any recommendatiins of where to head out after the footy to meet down-to-earth people, who, love music. Thank you in advance for any help.

What sort of music/age range are we talking?

If you're talking bands I got some suggestions,

-Arthur Bar, old furniture store, now live music venue for young bands, central location, ask for directions for the toilets
-Crown and Anchor, live music, two pool tables, bit of an institution here
-Grace Emily, laid back pub for an older crowd, plenty of live music, the place to be on a Monday night (BBQ)
-Metropolitan Hotel, real mix this one, young bands out the back, screens with the footy in the bars, old school front bar feel.

West Coast have a kids clinic at Woodville on Tuesday, they don't play until Saturday. St Kilda open training at the Parade on Wednesday, don't play until Sunday.

This year teams will be here for a bit.
St kilda are playing port here this weekend

Definitely Grace Emily for laid back people and music, Clanger who started it has worked closely with a few footy clubs, currently a runner with Richmond, he also has a pub in Melbourne but I forget what it’s called, pretty sure it’s in Collingwood

Don't forget Skycity "The District" live bands. They are pretty good.
