So from 3pm today our tickets will be finally unlocked so we can mobile share them or print them off.
Finally got access to my crows one but can only add 1 to my wallet because both tickets link to the same (add to Apple wallet) ticket. Guess I’ll have to try and ring them tomorrow.

Drove over last year from Geelong but sadly couldn't justify the cost this time even for the Thursday game especially as it's costing me 4k to fly back to the UK in June. Hope everyone who's going has a great time.

When I clicked add to apple wallet. Every ticket added. Not just mine. If you swipe your screen the others are there. I just wanted mine. Not the other 9 who i arranged as i have shared those.

Surely you are getting paid to go to the UK?

One of our party is unable to come to Gather Round Thursday and Friday night so I have one adult ticket for sale.

Good news is it is in Bay 305 which is a fantastic spot. Bad news is you will be sitting with me.

They were bought as part of the four night package which I think was about $200 so $50 per night sounds reasonable.

Work colleague of mine , big Collingwood supporter, no allegiance or links to Adelaide whatsoever, but he reckons Gather Round should be permanently in Adelaide

Doesn't reckon anywhere else would get behind it in the same way, and Adelaide Oval as the centrepiece is something only pulled off with that spectacle of a stadium

Thought that was a cool neutral opinion

I've been trying to be objective, and think of good reasons why it could / should be done somewhere else, and be as successful, and I can't. I think the AFL have created a monster, if you like - they'd like to share it around, and fair enough, but anywhere else would be a downgrade.

Nothing would come close to SA. It’d be lost in Sydney, pointless in Melbourne and undriveable to anywhere else. In SA it takes over the town, that can happen if it went to Tassie, but you won’t get the traffic.

Perth is too far for anyone to get to (everyone would have to fly and the airlines would exploit this, making it unaffordable for most).

Sydney has the grounds to play matches (could have a marquee game at Accor, and then split matches between the SCG, Engie Stadium, and possibly Blacktown and Henson Park) but you would not get the city behind the round like you do here.

Brisbane is too focused on the Olympics to worry about Gather Round (though, like Sydney, would have the grounds ready with an easy split between the Gabba, Carrara and Springfield).

Tasmania simply wouldn’t cope with the influx of tourists Gather Round would attract (and you’d have the Perth problem of airlines jacking up prices).

Adelaide has embraced Gather Round. Elder Park looks great during the round, we’ve seen investment in regional ovals like Barossa Park (even if Mt Barker has become a bit of a white elephant thanks to the local council). It’s here to stay for the short-medium term.

It's Mt Barker Council, hell would have to freeze over first.

There's a number of issues with the facility but that's the big one
Does the council want to get any value from their asset.

Surely the get voted out if they remain stubborn as the local community not getting use of their oval.

They're losing 2mil on it every year.

In the depths of winter you get some HFL clubs training on it, and Sturt juniors and Women's sides have played a few games while Unley was in cricket mode.

It was designed to not have an anchor tenant, and they thought people would flock to hire such a wonderful facility. Thing is, the facilities (outside of the oval itself) are pretty ordinary.

The oval is magnificent, but the upkeep is well over 6 figures PA

So are they just going to let it die?
