The only offical news is McCaffer being placed on long term injury list. Everything else is purely speculation. You could guess one of Gault or Frost gets promoted that's a 50 50 chance, not bad.

IIRC we already had one rookie promotion up our sleeve before round 1 because of the composition of our senior / rookie list? And Frost was always going to get that?

Historically, Collingwood don't promote anyone until they need to.

They wouldn't need to promote Gault until the week before round 1, and they would only do it if he was to be selected.

Frost is already our nominated rookie because we have an extra spot on the senior list, so Gault is really the only logical candidate for promotion.

I agree with you, but just to play devils advocate, Cox? If Grundy's knock had been more severe and the club wanted to be conservative with Witts he was our only legitimate rucking option left, IMO.

It actually opens it up more for Gault, who is in front of Moore for a key forward spot anyway. Or it means we are more likely to play both Grundy and Witts in the same side.
The Moore option would be well down the list.

Everything about this statement is so wrong its almost like you don't watch the Pies at all? (No offence) Gault is a spud and would not only be behind Moore but Cox as well.

We are talking about readiness to play on round 1 and a key forward / ruck (White's role).
Moore is being developed as a key back. And would surely be seen as less ready than Gault, who has been getting ready for years. Not only have I watched all recent Pies games, but I have been at training this year and late last year, and have noted how Gault is a central key forward in most drills requiring it.
Gault is certainly in front of Cox.

You've been sitting on that quite a while kudos to you JB!

As an aside I'm really glad to see the improvements in Gault's game. At times last year the hate towards him was irrational considering his age, size, maturity and position.

He was always going to be a slow build and so so many potted him through 13-14 he may or may not get this elevation, but either way I'm just glad to see him stick it to the haters!

The idea of three talls is growing on me regarding Cloke, Gault and White. All three compliment each other. Travis I would prefer as CHF using his tank and strength, Gault attempting pack marks deep inside fifty and White using his speed and agility as third tall. I also feel that the new rule changes regarding blocking will assist big players flying for the ball. Just need a handy crummer or two at their feet.
