What utter rubbish. So by the same token you would not have a problem with a blacks only hotel? Where does it stop? Another example of the anti straight white male attitude of society (inb4 yeah, you straight white males have it so tough). Again, if a straight person genuinely wants to stay at the hotel, how would they be homophobic, or making gay people uncomfortable unless those gay patrons had a problem with straight people to begin with?

It seems there are a lot of gay people out there who actually have a problem which us straight people who literally couldn't care less about their sexuality. It reduces their "special status" in society as poor little downtrodden victims.

It is nothing more than heterophobia, no matter which way you look at it. Equality is a two street you know.

On paper, no it doesn't seem right, but the situation is doesn't require the litres of tears in your post, so calm down a bit.

IF there were a region where blacks were particularly abused, looked down upon, or abused, then YES, I think there would be a call for a "blacks only hotel".

You can have a no-gays hotel when straight people have legitimate reason to be threatened by gays. Gays don't have these facilities because they are merely 'uncomfortable' with straight people, you are just being dishonest with your intellect there, it is basically because a minority of heterosexuals are still rather homophobic. And rather than have a test on every straight person to see if they're ok staying there, easy to just say nah it's a safe haven for our community.

I'm not talking about ancient belief systems or "it's gross" sort of comfortableness, I'm talking have real reasons to be worried about a small portion of the community,, when the gay community as a whole has been downtrodden for so long I give them a pass on the whole 'victimhood' complex, and they can have their gay-only hotel, away from any possible bigotry.

Forgot to add - there is one other thing gays and women have in common. A systemic, social downtrodden history. Perpetuated by bigots, usually straight white men.

Doesn't make it 'right' in modern society, and yes two wrongs don't make a right, but if you can't see the context behind this as to why it's 'ok' (even if reasonable people like OP can't stay at a hotel they wanted to) then there's no hope.
