The more I look at it, the worse it is, I think. It looked similar to the Shiel one, but it was harder, it was later, and it was more crude. The Shiel one looked like a genuine accident; this one looked more like a player frustrated that he didn't stop the ball leaving the area.

In Gaz's favour is last week's precedent, and the fact that the umpire saw what happened, and only paid a free kick.

Might not get away with poking the bear twice.

Michael said a few weeks back that a raised elbow is automatic 'intentional', he honoured that last week and gave Gaz the week for low impact, high contact intentional. I think this looks the same unless he folds on the intentional as Ablett got off, perhaps impact insufficient this time as the North player was not effected at all. The side on view showed Ablett moving at speed I think it still looks like low impact again to me.

I think a week again from Michael unless some better vision comes out to show the point of impact better.

Its not clumsy. It was well well after the ball had left play. You cant block players in that situation.

Yep. If there was any force in it then if would be a genuine snipe and at least a month off. As such there was little force so it will get a week. It looks really bad.

He told us himself in post match interview that’s he’s not as fast as he used to be and it makes him cranky. Ha. He also punched a player in the back off the ball today-most uncharacteristic, so cooling off is probably coming at a good time for him, though not for us.
