As it stands at the end of the 2014 season.

GWS Giants - 4-1 = 80%
Richmond - 3-1 = 75%

Melbourne - 3-3 = 50%
Collingwood - 2-2 = 50%

St Kilda - 3-4 = 43%
North Melbourne - 2-3 = 40%
Western Bulldogs - 2-4 = 33%

Brisbane Lions - 2-6 = 25%
Carlton - 1-3 = 25%
Geelong - 1-4 = 20%
Port Adelaide - 1-4 = 20%

Essendon - 0-4 = 0%
Fremantle - 0-4 = 0%
Sydney - 0-4 = 0%
West Coast - 0-5 = 0%
Adelaide - 0-6 = 0%
Hawthorn - 0-6 = 0%

A few things to note:

- GWS being the Suns bunnies shouldn't surprise anyone.

- That record against Richmond must bring a smile to the face of every Suns fan :)

- 50/50 record against Collingwood is good to look at as well, with every chance to turn that into a positive W/L record in 2015.

- Record against the Lions isn't as good as I originally thought it was, given how poor the Lions have been since the Suns' inception.

- Port Adelaide haven't lost to the Suns since that famous game in 2011. Perhaps the Power players made a pact to never lose to the Suns again after that loss? :p

Still stings a little.

Records at Metricon (Carrara) interest me as well. As of the end of 2014:

Adelaide: 7-0 (100%)
Essendon: 6-0 (100%)
Fremantle: 3-0 (100%)
Port Adelaide 3-0 (100%)

West Coast: 5-1-1 (78%)
Hawthorn: 6-2 (75%)
Collingwood: 6-2 (75%)

North Melbourne: 9-4 (69%)
Sydney: 5-3 (62%)
Geelong 5-3 (62%)

St Kilda 5-4 (55%)
Bulldogs 5-4 (55%)
Lions 3-3 (50%)

Carlton 3-5 (37%)
Gold Coast 15-26 (36%)
Melbourne 2-5 (28%)

Richmond 1-5 (16%)
GWS 0-3 (0%)

The stats are a bit unfair because it wasn't that hard to beat the Bears back in the day, unless your club is named Richmond. :p I guess it's fair to say that Richmond, Carlton and Melbourne struggle to play at Carrara regardless of the opponent where as Essendon and Adelaide are the clear stand outs at the end of the spectrum. The non-Victorian teams seem to do well at Carrara and that probably has to do with being used to travelling every second week.

Never knew that Essendon and Adelaide were undefeated at Carrara.

Some very interesting records to look at there :thumbsu:

Hoping for an Essendon home game in 2015 anyway, but it'd be nice to break their record here!

We will play Essendon twice next year I think. So a home game is inevitable
Last time they were at Metricon was in 2012, so it would hopefully bring a decent crowd - all pending the ASADA outcome though, I guess. But with Hird back, I'd imagine the QLD fans would flock to the Coast.

You could go even more in depth and analyse the records before and after the redevelopment:

Adelaide
Before: 4-0
After: 3-0
Overall: 7-0

Essendon
Before: 5-0
After: 1-0
Overall: 6-0

Fremantle
Before: 0-0
After: 3-0
Overall: 3-0

Port Adelaide
Before: 0-0
After: 3-0
Overall: 3-0

West Coast
Before: 4-1-1
After: 1-0
Overall: 5-1-1

Hawthorn
Before: 4-2
After: 2-0
Overall: 6-2

Collingwood
Before: 5-0
After: 1-2
Overall: 6-2

North Melbourne
Before: 7-3
After: 2-1
Overall: 9-4

Sydney
Before: 2-3
After: 3-0
Overall: 5-3

Geelong
Before: 3-2
After: 2-1
Overall: 5-3

St Kilda
Before: 3-2
After: 2-2
Overall: 5-4

Bulldogs
Before: 4-2
After: 1-2
Overall: 5-4

Brisbane
Before: 1-2
After: 2-1
Overall: 3-3

Carlton
Before: 2-4
After: 1-1
Overall: 3-5

Gold Coast
Before: 0-0
After: 15-26
Overall: 15-26

Melbourne
Before: 2-4
After: 0-1
Overall: 2-5

Richmond
Before: 1-4
After: 0-1
Overall: 1-5

GWS
Before: 0-0
After: 0-3
Overall: 0-3

So the Suns have an undefeated record at Carrara against GWS, Richmond and Melbourne. Funnily enough, Richmond and Melbourne also had bad records at Carrara prior to the Suns entering the competition. The Suns also have a winning record over Collingwood and the Bulldogs at Carrara. They sit level with Carlton and St Kilda in terms of winning record at Carrara. The rest of the teams have a winning record over the Suns at Carrara with Adelaide, Essendon, Port Adelaide, Fremantle, West Coast, Hawthorn and Sydney all having unblemished records.

Another interesting stat that is forming is Gold Coast winning their first round in mid-March for the last two years. It would appear the humid conditions in March are an advantage and put non-Queensland clubs off. We saw both Richmond this year and St Kilda last year struggle to deal with the slippery conditions and their players were cramping in the fourth quarter. The Gabba isn't available to the Lions in mid-March due to cricket commitments so the Suns will continue to get home games in round 1 each season. This could be a huge advantage for the Suns in the future. If you can just about book in a win every year in the first round then you're way ahead of the pack already.

Certainly some interesting stats there. Essendon, West Coast, Richmond and Melbourne have only played at Carrara once since the redevelopment so I'd imagine most of them will feature on the Gold Coast in 2015. This isn't an arrogant thing but the only undefeated record I could see extending for a while would be Port Adelaide. I can't imagine Essendon, Adelaide and Fremantle will continue to win games at Carrara over the next few years.

It got announced yesterday that the Lions' round 1 game will be against Collingwood at the Gabba, so I really hope the Suns don't have a game on the same day because I really want to go to the Lions vs Pies game :(

I think the whole season has been pushed back because of the Cricket World Cup. In a normal season the Suns would be playing at home in round 1 every time. There is no way they'll schedule both in Queensland on the same weekend. The Suns will play away in round 1 2015.

- North Melbourne are now officially the Suns bunnies :)

- Maiden win against Essendon came this year :D

- Positive W/L ratio against Richmond and GWS remains despite the Suns getting thrashed by both teams

- Brisbane move into the second bracket due to the Suns winning both QClashes this year :thumbsu:

Who will be the last team to lose to Gold Coast?
There's only three left. Adelaide, Fremantle and Port Adelaide. I would guess one of the SA teams given the age of their lists and the fact that Freo has to fly further.

EDIT: I went with last team to lose at Metricon. Last team to lose to the Suns at any venue will either be Adelaide, Fremantle, Hawthorn, Sydney or West Coast. I would guess the Crows.

Has your opinion changed after Dangerfield's exit from the Crows?
