Nice of Gisborne McIntyre side to lace their sandwiches with "chilli powder" last week, grow up boys.

Perhaps the Eating Machines in that side should actually Chew & Taste their food when they Gorge themselves at Tea time, inhaling anything that remotely looks like food !................. who knows it may actually improve their teams performance !!!!

God they have it good anyway..... in my day a cuppa & a couple of Stivo's was all you got, or needed...... & we were glad to get it too !!!!

Then we just went out & won.... & didnt whinge or look for excusses !!!

maybe the so called sanwiches of fire were the reason all of macedons bats bar one threw there wickets away chasing down a relatively easy target or maybe and more likely there just no good at all to much reliance on one player

Looks like both Woodend and United are a fair chance to make finals, and from what I hear poor old Kevy went alright at country week, runs and wickets (on turf). You better hope Harmon makes a combined total of 300+ in the finals so at least one prediction will be right.

The fight for 4th is gonna be tight between Rupo and the Woodsmen.
Not that it really matters anyway - the only team that can get near the Marsh are United, and even they are going to rely heavily on Grey, Parker and Hughes.
I'd be interested to here how people rated there own clubs seasons in a couple of weeks???????

gisborne d grade 5/660 against riddell on saturday stopped after 60 overs as they were sick of waiting for the riddell players collecting the ball, has anyone ever played in a side that has had that many runs spanked off them ?
surely not!

I played in a low-grade Romsey side a few years back which conceded 695 at the Romsey Primary School oval.

I'm sure Saturday's result was just another example of another "stacked" Gisborne low-grade side. What was their starting XI?

mathew johnson
jack mills
ross dickson
wayne walsh
casey summerfield
timothy walsh
jason goodall
tom buttigieg
xavier buttigieg
mathew jonhstone
kurt baird

wouldnt exactly call that a stacked side there matt

Matty Johnson, Wayne Walsh and Jack Mills are all very capable of playing higher grade cricket. Ross Dickson certainly would be a handy B or C-grader and unsure of most of the other names.

ross dickson is playing in the grade he should be , matty johnson hasnt made a run up until this week, jack mills has struggled all year and wayne walsh hasnt made a run for nearly two years definatly not a stacked side thats for sure

Jason Goodall has been a pretty handy bat for a long time
Casey Summerfield used to go alright at Macedon
but worth 660 runs ? unfortunately with the lack of decent sized grounds in the comp, scores like this will occur .

Correct me if I'm wrong, but dont the score books you use stop at 500 or 550 or something...... what do you do when you fill it all up ?
Or better still how do you fit all the dudes runs in that made 250+ ?
From memory the lower grade books used to look quite a mess.... I'm betting Saturdays must have been a doozey !!!

tom buttigieg aint a d grade player he should be playing higher for sure, especially after a 250+ score

Hey guys im a first time user to big footy..I have recently been following Tylden around watching them play a few games and what on earth are they doing in H grade? They have players such as Rod Clifford who i thinkhas smacked around 500 runs, Harley Forgo who is too good a bowler for H grade, Rory Healy who i beleive is there skipper and hes made 300 runs and taken 10 wickckets and all these players are capable of playing B grade. Where will Tylden be at next season do we all think? Are they going to grow at all or just stick with one team?

Might go up to G-grade.

No point of playing any higher if you only have three B-graders and the rest H-grade.

I have also heard a rumour or two Tylden will be taking alot of high grade players from Kyneton and to add to the side, Rhys Ellis and Zack Boyer have also confirmed they will be playing there next season.

Agreed. Bar the top three or four bats they fall away quite dramatically..Good bunch of battlers but not at much higher than H or G grade. Not dissimilar to Trevor Shipp at macedon. Whenever he doesn't score 50 or more (not very often mindyou) Macedon struggle to make over a 100 . still it's Tyldens first season in the comp ,so who knew how good they would be. I suppose the advantage they have is playing their first 11 against most sides 3rd s or 4ths.

jason goodall from gisborne a few yrs back made 297, caught on the fence going for his 300

That was the game I played in where Gisborne made 695 at the Romsey Primary School. Dave Rickard took the catch. His bowling got smashed all day, he dropped about five catches that afternoon, but went off with a smile after catching the bloke on 297.

Was at the game when shipp bowled 35 overs straight against tylden and didnt give any kids a bowl. poor form by him. Tylden played macedon 2 weeks ago and got him out for a duck!! then diggers playing them this round and got him out for 4!! His ment to be teaching the kids a thing or 2 about cricket but he is nothing but a glory hunter!!

I've been playing in the same team as him this season and didn't know him prior to this season.
i do believe the kids do learn a fair bit from him.I didn't play in the game that he bowled the 30 odd overs in but yes that is a lot for one bloke to bowl . Most guys ,who want to bowl ,do get to bowl ,which is an opportunity that they might not get at most clubs..Against Tylden he was out to Harley Forgo ,who could quite easily be playing as high as a B grade and a fella (Graham ?)playing for tylden made 70 odd and was way too good also.and this week against Diggers was out cheaply again ,to an attack that was spearheaded by Jason Betts, who is not in the twilight of his career and quite easily play higher also.
Every team seems to have one or two players that are too strong for the lowest grade and this has been going on for years, from the days when the Koo boys,Gaz Goodall ,Simon Hawkins ,Strangie and Gary Sanders were flogging sides down in the lower grades,to nowadays when you have Shipp at Macedon,Forgo Graham and Clifford at Tylden and Betts and the opening bat ,who's name escapes me ,at Diggers .

What is the solution?
I have no idea

I guess its different for tylden though as its there first year and didnt know what to expect as in which grade they should be in..im thinking they should be going up to D or E grade next season to test there strength against higher clubs....the only thing is when the oppositions get batters out such as clifford, forgo, healy and graham they dont really have much more batting to come...was looking at those stats on mycricket and saw that between those 4 batsmen they have made 1500 runs between them all. it will be very interesting come these semi finals as to who will play off in the grand final...im edging towards a Diggers verse Tylden final???

i think Diggers and Tylden will be playing each other in the 1st week of the finals and Macedon and Sunbury in the other one ,unless ladder possies change dramatically this week
