Give me a break, any1 can get 250 against Riddell at dixon on a superfast outfield, just wait till they face Hesket's amazing bowling line up

georgie rio have you smashed a score of 250 before ?

wouldnt have thought so , regardless of where it is played 250 on any ground is a fantastic effort, and dont think the gisborne boys will be to worried about facing heskets attack at all

i agree superfred, united smacked them around last game for 244,so imagine what gisborne could rack up

Smacked them around?? are u for real the only player to resemble smacking it around was rodger, and seeing as tho hesket only fell 20 runs short on a wet outfield tends to suggest it wasnt that much of a pasting.

maybe, but at the end of the day who got the 6 points and who didn't?
i think gisborne could make alot more than 244 at sankey though. as for a wet outfield! you must be joking right? langama no.2 is as dry as a bone at the moment.

well if u were there u would have noticed it was a wet field and a wet pitch, just ask the united bowlers, fair play they got the points, they were the better team

no 250's for me , close once this year but no cigar , sounds like many an excuse already for a loss not to confident going into finals ? or is it who your up against ? , you adapt to the conditions that your given its simple really if your not good enough to win then theres no point making excuses as to why you lost!

not an excuse just a fact, and correct not confident going into finals but we will see.

why on earth did hesket choose to bat on saturday ?
clearly with losing time with the weather they had to bowl out gisborne to win the game ,poor decision making from the captain there i think .
congrats to our mcintyre d grade and e grade sides making the grand finals, e grade finishing fourth and bowling out the top side rupo for 31 ! great effort. also good luck to the under 16 sides playing in the grand finals this weekend

Yes anyone who clearly understands the rules of cricket would of bowled first in that situation.
Should be a great grand final, personally i'm tipping Lancefield who clearly had a much harder semi final, but over 3 days anything is possible.

Tylden won the toss and bowled on a very wet wicket on the saturday...had them 4 down overnight and ended up getting them all out for 112 which gave tylden 2 hours to make 112..ended up beingall out for 83 with 25 minutes left...best batter was R.Healy with 60 whos eye was in right from the start and J.Betts was the star bowler for diggers with 7/25 off 16

and anyone who knows anything about cricket wouldnt have selected the team they did, well done to gis and lancefield, I also am tipping lanny, but if they do win it will be only just. Looking forward to a great contest.

And people bitch about Shipp being too good for H grade. how many has Bettsy taken in the past 4 games over 20 wickets? Good luck to him ,he's not a bad bloke.
All that said , Mr Shipp picked up 57 on the weekend (run out) and a 4 for bugger all of 7 overs . Unfortunately for sunbury they had only 9 players that were qualified to bat.
Good to see the Macedon youngsters bat straight and not throw away their wickets in trying conditions.
Good luck to the Cats sides under 14s ,under16s ,F Grade and H Grade

Hesket are a bunch of D!ckHe@ds... What a joke!! I'm glad they were smashed, Enough said...

Actually, No..

Hesket D grade should be ashamed of themselves. They got rid of the Ox, brought in some nobody, who hasn't done anything but fumble when he's keeping and get bowled by leaving a ball... Then they got rid of Bart, their captain.. Who has probably averaged 40 the games he's played. And then finally Deutch... I want to know the two superstars they brought in for the finals.

Good Captains choice no doubt...

You make a very interesting point, is it the captains fault for such a disgraceful loss, or should the Chairmen of selectors put his hands up for picking such a woeful team? I believe alot of finger pointing will be done, but at the end of the day a better team won.

the funniest thing was electing to bat first when you had to bowl out the other team to stand a chance. Maybe the smoke got in their eyes

why can't the GDCA grow some balls and become like every other cricket association and play the semis on the long weekend so there is a reserve day for things like rain?
at least that would give all 4 sides who made the finals for each grade a fair and even chance of progressing. at the moment it is too heavily favoring the top 2 teams, while i agree that they should get home semi finals and if after 2 full days there is still no result they go though it makes the GDCA a laughing stock when it comes to finals cricket. look at sunbury united d grade for instance( i don't play in that side) but were top 2 all year until the last round when while they still win there last round, through no fault of there own they are relegated 3rd thanks to woodend laying down to lancefield for and outright result leaving them in 3rd spot 1 lousy point behind 2nd. COME ON GDCA instead of playing all these 1 dayers during the year how about having the first 2 games as one dayers and the last game before xmas aswell ,and the first and last game after xmas one dayers and all the rest 2 dayers, it also takes out a chance of a contrived result(in regards to getting a outright victory) in the last round

Well done Gisborne, i belive you have the d grade flag, thought Lancefield would do it, strange decision taking the new ball, thought it might fly off the bat and it did

And the Mcintyre cup to go with it. The boys absolutely smashed Bachus Marsh in a game that no one gave Gisborne a chance to win. Massive effort for the club this year after the Mcintyre boys fought off relegation last year.

Future looks good with our two u16 sides going through the year undefeated and both picking up flags

Will you now consider pulling the white back on next year mate? The Dragons are no longer the laughing stock they have been for the better part of a decade. Last won a first grade flag in 90/91 I believe. No real sign off "team stacking" too. I went and had a look at D Grade and thought the blokes playing there are D Graders. Sure, maybe one or two are borderline B Graders, but I'm sure any club with 4-5 teams have players like that too.

Well done Dragons
