Not sure on any main signings but Thomson will slip outside of the top 5 without replacing Macleod with a similar player. 90 goals is a huge loss.Inverleigh won't hurt as much depending on recruiting another forward.Early stages but top 5 end of home and away.
3 certainties could throw in Werribee for numbers only.

Bannockburn
Bell post hill
Inverleigh
Anakie
Nth Geelong

Anakie??? Have they recruited new players?

Anakie will improve from this season .Big ruckman is back.On that basis Nth Geelong will stagnate . Anakie jump over Nth Geelong to Thomson slip.Blanket over Werribee,Thomson,East Geelong and Winchelsea but very early stages just like to look back in 10 months time

Anakie will need more then Wilson to jump into the 5.

Thomson losing Brent will be a big loss but they didn't have him in 2015 and they almost made the finals. They will still be the 4th-5th best side.

Banno
BPH
North
Thomson
Inver

Banno and BPH to play off again. North to climb with Doggy back in charge and with recruits. I think even though it didn't work out for him in the GFL, Pitman will make a massive difference to North......that's if he does sign there.Thomson will be around the same, big loss of McLeod but the guys might relish the opportunity of someone not yelling at them
on the field all game. Watched him 4 times this year and that's all he did. Inver will take a slide I would say. 3 prelims in 3 years and nothing to show for it. Mark is a excellent coach but he's player might be sick of he's game plan as it has failed over the years at the pointy end and might not dedicate like previous years and with Carson gone no real genuine forward. Might be time to move on with a new coach. Only my opinion. Anakie is a roughie to get in but they need to sneak 1 or 2 games against a side above, plus winning all the games they should against the weaker side. I saw 2 Anakie's this year. One was good at time and one was gross. Belmont to slide the most I would say.

Those saying Anakie will make the top 5 are kidding themselves Wilson nice in but Beardsell massive loss and they were 10 goals behind top 5 sides last year top 5 will be the same again with the gap widening it must be concerning to the league BPH Banno Inver Thomson And North are 10-15 goals better than the other teams

Winchelsea, West, Corio, Anakie, East and Werribee should be all granted 50 points to be able to make up what is a lop sided competition

East Geelong have gone the family connection, picking up a Ruckman from Drysie and a mid from QCliffe..
Not saying East to make the five .They won't but they will certainly improve .They have more points to recruit and play with next season. This season like many had 5 pointers 3 pointers that unfortunately didn't go to plan good players but not worth 5 or 3 points.O'tooles gone much as Barry kicked a few Rick has been champ .East have a couple of talented forwards who will be very handy in the next couple of years . Hope its alot closer between the top 3 and the rest.

Lost more than just those two I think you will find, Prymke is a bigger loss along with a few others I'm told are gone. Hope they can bounce back the league needs a strong East Geelong

How many of these clubs have juniors?
Ranking of GDFL junior teams
Anakie. C+. Reasonable batch Of 16-20 year olds. No depth in lower divisions
Belmont. C- Top end talent moving to Gfl teams Most teams filled in Lower divisions
Bell Post Hill D- Starting a rebuilding process that will take years to obtain results for senior team
Corio. C+. Apart from discipline issues, numbers and standard is above average
Bannockburn B+ Township to support assists numbers and depth but still loses too much top end talent to GFL teams in higher divisions
Inverleigh B. Good emphasis on junior from the smaller country club for the last decade
Thomson. E. no substance to their program or evidence of significant rebuild emphasis
North. B+. History and past families loyalty have built a solid junior program who have led the GDFL sides for 20 years
Werribee Centrals. A- currently have the best 15-18 year old talent and access to Melbourne catchment
Winchelsea D. Community support but lack of numbers have mixed and inconsistent performances in age groups
East Geelong D. Difficult to rebuild in area where competition for junior sports team is very high.
Giants /GWest. Will go from a F in 2017 to an A in 2018 if they get access to Div 1&2 talent for 1 pt as a result of the merge

Thomson will lose Justin White. He is moving to New Zealand.

Another West/Forrest player Brendan Wall on his way to Thomson. The points will be a major issue at Thomson again.

Brendan played in the C.H.F.L. this season, wouldn't that make him a 1 point player?

No. Any transferring senior player is worth 3 pts unless it's to his junior club then he would be 1 point. He will get 1 additional point for 3 clubs in 3 years and 1 additional point for wining a club BnF making him a 5 point player.

I stand corrected, who did he win the B&F for?

Kick it forward, I fairly sure you explained this, if a GDFL player joins a GFL club
he is a 3 point player. Do you add a extra point if he won the B&F int his last year with the GDFL club?

Yeah that is it. Any transferring senior player is worth 3 points. Addition point applies if the player finishes top 5 in the club BnF.

He played at west then went to Forrest with the a heap of other west players. When Forrest folded he went to rokewood this year. Yes Thomson will be his 4 club in 4 years.
