Horrible umpiring against both teams. I've never seen so many holding the ball decisions. We couldn't deliver it accurately to our forwards, and couldn't beat the men Hawthorn kept behind the ball.

King lost that game for us with his handpass that went to Crawford and he goaled. We were 8 pionts up and had the momentum but that goal lifted the Hawks which is what we didn't need.

Josh Hunt was delivering the ball well, had 15 touches in the first half but got dragged for whole second half.. Mooney is a joke!

I don't get to watch it on Ch.7 at 10:30 tonight :(

What was the crowd like, many Geelong supporters down there?

I'm in Japan...I don't get to watch it at all until either the AFL site puts it up or someone torrents it.

I'm going to watch the Geel v Carl game to cheer me up

Oh, come on dude. The same thing could be said for a variety of errors, or the player who was supposed to be on Crawford, or Mooney and his woeful kick into the 50, or the umpires abysmal decision against Chappy...King wasn't great today but he wasn't outright bad, certainly not as bad as the likes of Byrnes or the non-effective Mooney.

I agree there were other errors, but that one was pivotal. We had just kicked a goal, the momentum was with us and another goal would have really put the Hawks under enormous pressure. Then King coughs the ball up to Crawford and he runs in and kicks a goal. All the Hawks lifted from that point and we were the ones that ended up under pressure. :(

King was sh1thouse and I'm not just saying that for that handpass to crawford that cost us a goal, everything he does is in slow motion and his actual ruckwork is not impressive to say the least.

Unfortunately that's irrelevant, as he is our #1 Ruckman and Ex-Captain and an All Australian.

If only we could've convinced the entire Hawthorn team to jump in our time machine we woulda had a chance.:p

I agree it may have been irrelevant when he was our captain but he no longer is. Plus the title of number one ruckman shouldn't just come about through a statment made by the coach, it is something that is earnt on the field and right now IMO it is 1. Ottens 2. Blake 3. King. The club has absolutley no obligation to play King. If Ottens is fit bring him straight back in for King if not then I guess we'll have to give him another chance.

There were a lot more Hawthorn supporters from the sounds of the cheers.

I was at the game, and in the section I was in there was about 75% Geelong fans, 15% Hawthorn & 10% other teams just keen for some AFL (what sets us apart from these other locations they want to create a team in).

I assume it was evened out a little more around the ground, but I couldn't see any massive sections of brown & gold anywhere (other than the Hawthorn cheersquad that I was in the pocket near), even with them the noise seemed to be a lot louder for Geelong. It's not a great ground for atmosphere (and many other things ...like good football for starters), but I'd say it would've been at least 60-40 our way crowd, 50-50 at worst.
