Settle Bomber fans. Surely you know this feeling well, and it aint pleasant.

What really hurt was when we had to trade 3 good players to fit everyone under our salary cap for 2002. One of those players, Carracella, went to the Premiers Brisbane (with their salary cap consessions!). Now that is true pain.

Yes I recall the pain of 83 and 90 and that was why I was very supportive of Geelong in last years Grand Final and while they will be very diappointed there is one thing all football watchers know and that is Geelong have a fantastic group of players who will bounce back from today.

Geelong can go away from today knowing they missed opportunities and will want to make amends, my post was not in anyway dismissing the wonderful season Geelong have had and every Geelong person can and should be proud of their team.

Bomber is a man who knows how to success and will see today as a learning experiance, I would be surprised if Geelong slipped down the ladder.

Bomber and his team were and remain a class act.

The Geelong side does resemble the Essendon side of 1999-2001.

However, we missed the chance to nail another flag whilst the clock is in the position to win another flag!!

If you recall, Essendon had salary cap problems that forced them to off load Blake Carcella, Justin Blumfield and Chris Heffernan.

At the end of the day, 50% of the Geelong players that wore the Blue and White Jumper did not follow the team processes and rules. THose culprits played dumb football.

Ling, Ablett, Ottens, Rooke, Corey, Scarlett, Milburn, Harry Taylor, Stevie J and Corey Enright played the team game.

Kelly, Stokes, Chapman and Lonergan played selfish dumb football.

And, Tom Lonergan is the luckiest player to have played in today's Grand FInal. He would not get a game for any other AFL side.
