Re: All 9 Cats make AA team

:eek::eek:

Well done boys!

Any news on who the 7 were on the ground?
Ill take a punt:

Egan
Milburn
Scarlett
Ablett
Ling
SJ
Mooney

Bench:
Bartel
Corey

Can also say that Egan has been named at CHB in the team.

That seems about right, excellent news, although Collingwood would be encouraged by the fact they have chance to beat a side with 9 players in the AA compared to their 0.

If this is correct

Half of the AA backline is from Geelong
Half of the bench is from geelong
One Third of the forward line is from geelong
One Third of the Midfield is from geelong

Fair effort ;)

Not sure KRock is in the know more than anyone else. In the past, only those that actually make the team are invited, so if you see 9 Geelong players hiring suits you could have a guess that they've made it. But maybe they've changed it and all 40 nominees are invited.

Much as I love Cam, you think the main forwards would be Brown and Pavlich.

I think Lockyer was stiff. Aside from that, just shows the evenness of your team. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

I honestly think the Cats will win by 6 goals plus.

In all honesty I think it is because you have no stand outs and are a more even side.

Geelong one time made the finals I believe and had no one make the AA. Didn't get too hung up about it though, and neither should you guys.

And a tip? I think if we play to our full potential we will beat you by 60-80 points. If we have some players having a bad night, 4-6 goals. More players on a bad night.. dont even wanna go there..

Lockyer should have been a lock in. Shaw was a bit up and down at times. We havent had anyone in an AA team since 2004 when Scarlett got in, and now we have 9.

I agree about Shaw, he was definitely up and down this season, he was brilliant last year and in parts this season, i guess the stiff competition was to blame for Collingwood players absence in the AA team, although in the end it means diddly squat if we lose this weekend.

Heath Shaw is horribly overrated. People notice his rebound, good skills, lots of possessions, mopping up etc, but so many times i've seen him get carved up by the opposition's WORST forward (because that's who he always plays on) LeCras was a good example on Friday.

Dont know if its that Shaw is over rated , he seems to have tired alittle over the last part of the season but I put that down to him being in his rookie years. But he sure was sensational in the early parts of the season and should have been close to AA. would be one that will give us a headache come Friday night.

Re: All 9 Cats make AA team

Heath Shaw didn't deserve to be AA. He was probably in the top 3 backmen in the league for the first 8 round but significantly dropped of once the pillow was attached to his leg. Same as Judd doesn't deserve to be AA this year.

Tarks is a little stiff. I wouldn't have him in the top 22 but he probably would find a place in the top 40.

Geelong have the talent to beat Collingwood by 50+ points. You never know though. It will be a great atmosphere, and Collingwood have defied the odds all year.
