So..... you didn't want Deledio? o_O
He would be nice but as told to you before he wanted to come to the Cats as he has family down that way. Until then I very much doubt he was in the club's thinking so him staying isn't going to change much.

Let's see if you can ignore this fact for the 5th time.

Not at the cost of any best 22 players. Just like last year, we'll do deals with picks and fringe scrubs but would be highly unlikely to trade out best 22 players. Let alone 1st and 2nd in our B&F + 3 more best 22 players. No club would ever do that though, right?

Hawks doing us a favour by giving up Lewis for a pick in the 60s. Why would we trade a player to the Tigefs when a contracted player of a similar vintage is going so cheaply.

Laughs will be had when O'Meara turns out to be a star. Geelong fans hoping desperately he doesn't come up from his knee issues because they know what is coming.
Who really cares if he stars in a bottom 8 team.

JOM already is a star, there is no doubt about that. The fact that you injury trolled your own potential recruit just goes to show how much this trade period has rattled you hawfie bandwagoners

Well Geelong was certainly extremely keen once they heard he wanted to come across. Maybe they could've even got the deal done if anyone was interested in Gutslop or they hadn't blown their merc allowance last year on Henderspud & the others. :$

So without Deledio that basically means your midfield next year be a 2 man band again. Maybe I was being generous when I said your window is open an inch.... more like the length of Nicky Dal's "Lil' Selwood".

Awesome, they already took us from 10th to 3rd this year so now we only have to climb 2 places next year. :):thumbsu:

With a rejuvinated Motlop 25 and 4'ing each week plus Touhy, Thurlow and our young midfield one finals series and preseason deeper you'd think we'll be a much better side again. That's without even considering all of our 2015 recruits better understanding our game plan. Things look excellent for Geelong in 2017

They got Brand for 66 a few years back

In the long term scheme of things a young cheap CHB with potential is a good pay back and you get over a mill in super for an aging star.
Plus more salary cap space to land a big fish FA next year.
Sounds like rebuilding is in progress for the next tilt at a 4gasm

Bartel, lonergan, Taylor, Mackie, all cooked another year. Enright, kersten gone. Tougher draw. 2016 was your time to strike.

The thing you seem to have trouble understanding is excluding Enright (replaced by Touhy/Thurlow) and Taylor (only 30, not even close to cooked) the others are either not best 22, or bottom 6.

Unlike your mob, we don't rely on all of our old players to win games.

Geelong's top 5 in B&F

1. Patrick Dangerfield — 253 (26)
2. Joel Selwood — 238 (28)
3. Corey Enright — 234.5 - (gone)
4. Cameron Guthrie — 229 (23)
5. Harry Taylor — 214 (30)

Hawthorn's top 5 in B&F

1. Sam Mitchell – 170 votes (gone)
2. Jordan Lewis – 157 votes (gone)
3. Shaun Burgoyne – 156 votes (33)
4. Grant Birchall – 152 votes (29)
5. Cyril Rioli – 148 votes (28)
