Geelong and Hawthorn record monumentally embarrassing 170000 page shitfight thread - Part 3

Geelong Supporters - are they Victoria's dirty little secret?

  • Yes, thank goodness they're mostly confined to a single town.

  • Yes, out of sight & out of mind. We shun them and rightly so.

  • No, every state has a criminal underclass.

  • No, they're people too... poorly bred perhaps but that's not their fault.

You lost me at technical DUI
0.018 over, no license loss, no accurate user-end measurement of BAC, and 68 countries where this is a legal BAC limit, including the United States. Followed up with an apology and 5K donation, and also a parallel one-game ban which was served in the final home and away game while suspended by the tribunal.

Compare that with Selwood, speeding over the limit, license loss, accurate user-end measurement of speed, no countries where speeding isn't illegal. Followed up with ducking the press, playing a JLT game, and sponsorship loss.

That's without mentioning Dawson Simpson, Billie Smedts and co, too.

TAC should head to the fine culture at Hawthorn now that they learned their lesson by getting involved with Geelong's toxic road culture.

As I've explained to you multiple times and you've refused to acknowledge because you are happy to overlook any Hawk indiscretion from DUI to rape. BAC goes down at .015 an hour on average so Hodge wasn't technically over he was over by at least an hour based on the average person.

There are akso many countries where Joel wouldn't have lost his licence or been pulled up. 130kph is commonplace on UK roads and the cops would bat an eyelid. You have to be doing 100mph for them to take notice.,

And you conveniently overlooked Brad Hill not stopping for Police and driving without a licence.

It really does beg the question of what a Hawk would need to do for you to not excuse their behaviour.

Yet the first hour it goes up, so the going down average is irrelevant. He was well within an hour (40 minutes) behind the wheel, so the going up average is probably what you should be looking at. This isn't hard to understand, so you're probably deliberately ignoring these facts, just like the time behind the wheel which you overestimated, the type of drink which you got wrong, etc etc.

It doesn't make sense to compare different speed limits since they're based on different circumstances. You can't compare Glenferrie Road to the Autobahn, and so forth.

And you conveniently overlooked Brad Hill not stopping for Police and driving without a licence.
Dismissed as he was yet at Hawthorn.

You're being hysterical again. I'm not excusing Hodge's behaviour, but its not in Selwood license losing territory, and the culture at Hawthorn was strong enough to administer a proper response.
The TAC would be much better served by a Hawthorn partnership.

The only example you can use to excuse Hodge is that he drank right before getting behind the wheel. I do find it funny that your excuses to exonerate Hodge only make him out to be more irresponsible.

LOL on your speeding example. Is anyone saying 130 is accepted in Central Berlin compared to an Autobahn..That you are trying to compare the two just shows how ludicrous your argument is.

It doesn't necessarily, as there is nothing particularly irresponsible about drinking right before driving a car. It all depends on whether you are over the limit.

It's your argument. You brought up UK roads, which is irrelevant since Selwood wasn't driving on one. Speed limits are often drafted due to different conditions, whereas BAC is universal.

BAC drink driving limits are not universal and are set to reflect a country's cultural acceptance. As it the speed limit.

Nice edit BTW.

I said BAC itself, not the BAC limits.

and are set to reflect a country's cultural acceptance. As it the speed limit.
Another desperate false equivalence.

BAC is also set to the science and what it tells us about impairment.

The speed limit, not being universal as BAC and its effects are, depends on many different circumstances. In fact even the speed limit itself is a circumstance which dictates the safe speed, as its always safer to drive around the same speed as the rest of the traffic, instead of exceeding it. So its irrelevant what other speed limits were, the road Selwood was on was marked at 100, and he broke that law deliberately.

TAC would have done much better at Hawthorn.

If you drive 100kph in Germany you are still driving the same speed in Australia.

If you are driving with a BAC of 0.068 in Germany you still have the same BAC if driving in Australia.

The only difference is what is deemed legal.

LOL, no shit. The difference would be the different conditions, which make different speeds safer in different areas, and which make irrelevant the question of whether or not there are higher speed limits in other areas and other conditions.

All roads except maybe the Hume and the Ballarat Highway are 110. Nearly every other open straight stretch of road outside of towns is 100. This includes dual lane highways, single lane bitumen and even dirt. Very different conditions, same speed limits, same fines.
You're arguing like someone who has never left the city limits.

You're arguing like someone who doesn't know what the argument is. I'm simply pointing to the fact that different speed limits are set for safety and owe mainly to different conditions, and therefore it's pointless to note speed limits on other roads when talking about the speed on another.

Who knows what you're arguing. You've changed your position so many times over the last few pages. You say BAC and impairment is universal but earlier you argued that size, what someone has or hasnt eaten and their drinking habits also play a part. You also say other countries speed limits are irrelevant but site 68 other countries BAC limits to prove your point then decide you weren't actually talking about limits anymore just BAC.

But this isn't new to you.

You cleary don't.

Yes, all those things affect BAC. BAC is universal in that it affects people the same way the world over, and is equally dangerous.

You also say other countries speed limits are irrelevant but site 68 other countries BAC limits to prove your point
Yes, other countries speed limits are irrelevant when it comes to speed because the limit is based on very local conditions, whereas BAC as mentioned earlier, is based on a universal affect.

then decide you weren't actually talking about limits anymore just BAC.
Yes, when I was talking about BAC I was talking about BAC. I was talking about BAC and its affects when you thought I was talking about BAC limits.

Please take your time to get all this right before embarrassing yourself further.

I'm not the one trying to excuse drink driving purely because the captain of the club I support got caught. That's as embarrassing as it gets.

So now that Duckwood has blown the TAC deal and left the club in financial turmoil ... Can we expect to see your supporter base diving in to your hand bags to assist??

Also, do we get a press conference anytime soon??? ... Poorly handled by a self-confessed "community leader" if you ask me!

And, has Duckwood put is hand in his pocket yet?? ... No donations to charity??

And all the time Chappyuk assured me this would be handled better than Hawthorn did with the Hodge incident??

Just because it isn't the way you foamers wanted it doesn't mean it wasn't handled correctly.
I'd rather an honest apology over a dishonest one and a token donation that was claimed back in in full.

Bahahaha ... Everything you said turned out to be wrong!!!

"Rather an honest apology" .... when we are expecting this?? ... it's been almost two weeks ... it would appear your captain is doing everything possible to duck the issue!

Hodgey was out within 48 hours doing pressers ... Good karma paid off Chappy ;).... Got our B2B2B!! :D
