Geelong and Hawthorn record monumentally embarrassing 170000 page shitfight thread - Part 3

Geelong Supporters - are they Victoria's dirty little secret?

  • Yes, thank goodness they're mostly confined to a single town.

  • Yes, out of sight & out of mind. We shun them and rightly so.

  • No, every state has a criminal underclass.

  • No, they're people too... poorly bred perhaps but that's not their fault.

Geelong whacked Motlop for a game for breaking team rules so we do in fact have very similar standards when it comes to breaking team rules.
I remember it took the Hawthorn players to out him during the Rd 1 thumping in 2015. No doubt Geelong already knew, but now that it was out, they had to act.

Talk about double standards. Hodge didnt get a suspension for drunk driving. But so quick to say its bad for the cats not to suspend their captain but its ok for hawthorn. You seriously believe your players shit dont stink. Glug glug glug that goo.
It's not double standards when it's a JLT game that Selwood is not missing. It shows how little Geelong think of this infraction. No wonder TAC dumped you flogs.

They make them deluded over at Corio. Probably what comes from living in that echo chamber.

Geelong Football Club great Jimmy Bartel doesn't believe Joel Selwood's driving indiscretion should have ended the club's ongoing sponsorship with the TAC. In fact, Bartel says the TAC could have used the incident as extra marketing, and allowed the Cats skipper to promote safe driver education.

And rightly so. It was only a speeding fine. And at least the TAC wanted to sponsor the cats, wouldnt go near a club that excuses drink drivers.

No, it was a speeding incident of 27km/h over the limit, which caused a fine and outright loss of license. The Cats response was to do literally nothing. No press conference, no donation to a trauma unit, no suspension. It's pissweak from the GFC, and the fans there should be more disappointed than anyone.

Yeah righto clown. Love the fake outrage. If it was a hawk you would not be saying that. Just like you defended Hodge saying he didnt mean to drive pissed. Glug glug glug.

I would say that particularly if it was a Hawthorn player, and it doesn't apply to Luke Hodge as he did cop a concurrent suspension and also a 5000 dollar donation which is the maximum, was made to a road trauma unit. Selwood on the other hand has accepted no responsibility, and shown no leadership. Sad!

Selwood has learnt his lesson and will be leading his team out come Round 1, meanwhile Podgey will be forced to watch from the sidelines as the Bombers tear apart the Hawfies due to yet another misdemeanor. It seems like poor Podgey will just never learn. :$

Joel hasn't learnt any lessons, that comes by paying for your stupidity, not dodging responsibility. More importantly, Geelong clearly haven't learnt their lesson from last year, and continue to handle Dangerwood with kiddy gloves.

He will pay his fine and lose his license for the month. Hopefully he will bounce back and learn from it, unlike Podgey who is still missing training sessions and forcing the leadership group to hand out matchday suspensions for his unprofessionalism. Selwood is far too much a team-man to bring others down around him, as we see with Podgey at the moment jeopardising the Hawks 2017 season.

Also, get caught over the limit - no penalty, miss one off-season training session - miss not only Round 1 but also forced to play a practice match in the VFL. Something definitely stinks, and it's not the Dingley Tip this time.

He probably finally found Garlett's mattress stash.

Only because he has no choice  In terms of taking responsibility, he has shown no indication that he's even interested in doing so, and neither has Dangerfield or the rest of the club. Hodge isn't putting the season in jeopardy, he's simply been punished, and if Geelong had any credibility they would do likewise for a far bigger offence.

That's Hird at a presser. If you think not doing a presser is Selwood not taking responsibility then you've used a bad example.

What constitutes taking responsibility BTW?

By lyjng and saying he only had ' a couple of drinks' Hodge is not taking ownership.
