3 recent flags but the Cats are nearly as broke as Brisbane. Why?

Funnier than an epic turnover in the forward half resulting in a past player and fan favourite kicking an 80 metre bomb to seal the victory for an interstate team playing at the MCG? If you say so. :thumbsu:
Sorry mate you'll have to speak up I couldn't hear ya through the pitiful sobbing over yesterday's game

Looks like it isn't only the Hawthorn posters around who are obsessed.

I agree we will dip over the next few years, but are unlikely to drop low as 10th. If only we could enjoy the equivalent of Geelong's charmed 2016 injury run we'd probably be sitting at 8-1 (the loss being to GWS) which wouldn't be bad for a rebuilding side coming off a threepeat!
You can sugarcoat your #concerningyouf and worrying start to the season all you want but the cries of 'fourthorn', etc at the beginning of the year indicate no such thing as a rebuild... it's insecure bandwagoners such as yourself who throw in the white flag by offering up excuses rather than home truths.

Never mind champ, we'll see if you've still got the aggots to post regularly when your side bottoms out hard over the next 2 years or so... and you will.:thumbsu:

Retiring over the next few years:

Lewis
Hodge
Gibson
Mitchell
Burgoyne

All absolute superstars and irreplaceable ...

But do you really think we'll bottom out with Clarko doing the rebuild? No chance.

It will be like our 2009-2011 years at worst. Where we made a prelim in 11.

Yes, yes I do, and I think you and whoever else assumes that won't be the case are in for a shock.

Your youf is putrid but that's to be expected when your team is built around high draft picks and players from other clubs.

As for Clarkson, he's been worked out to an extent like other great coaches eventually are.

You see, those mentioned players are the ones holding up your side... concerning eh?

How can I be concerned when Clarko put his hand up to rebuild?

Some of those guys have been injured or not performing well yet we are 6-3?

I don't expect to win the premiership every year all I want is a great coach and culture. We have that and it's no surprise we've won 4 out of the last 8 Grand Finals. This included losing Crawford, Croad, Guerra, Sewell, Williams and Buddy.

Nowhere near the losses of our budding retirements but Clarko will do it again.

It's too early to tell. Everyone says this player will be that etc but until they do it it's all bullshit.

We're fielding the youngest team in Clarko's era and mostly winning, albeit scrappy.

That's enough for me.

It's your veterans holding sway with reality suggesting that save for some suspect umpiring you probably should be 3-6, and thus this conversation wouldn't be happening... that's the reality of the situation.

If you get out of this without bottoming out you'll forever have my respect.

We will just like you did. I am consistent about this. Hawthorn and Geelong are the modern powerhouses in Melbourne.

Agreed ... But who is the big question.

I believe we will play off, just hope it's the Grand Final and not a prelim ...

This time last year we were just as ordinary. We always start seasons like this. People are fooled once again.
I'd pay to see that in all honesty...

If it eventuates and we win, I'll stop watching football. In fact the game is so corrupt it'll probably be my last year anyway.

It's not corrupt ... The reason the umpiring has lost the plot is Wayne Campbell has been told to direct umpire decision making on keeping the game moving.

That means that they no longer adjudicate to a consistent set of rules.

So you can drop it, throw it, duck and dive but no tackles will be paid if that means stopping the game.

It's why the Dogs are benefiting the most because that's how they play anyway.

I beg to differ. When you have 2 expansion sides join the fold and 1 is given extra privileges then we aren't on an even playing field.

Umpires support sides then are chosen to umpire said side.

The MRP play favourites.

Certain teams are given extra salary cap.

Certain players receive their third strike and dependent on who they were a blind eye was turned.

The AFL paid Ablett jnr extra money outside the salary cap to move to the Gold Coast then blocked his want to move back with an added incentive of extra.

The league rigs the fixturing to ensure GWS play all the decent sides at home and the lesser sides away.

Seriously mate, it's corrupt... that'll be the case as long as gambling is permitted in sport.

Bring back the 80's.

It's not that I don't agree per say it's that I don't care.

By the end of this season we will have won 7/10 of the last Grand Finals and doing it the hard way is why we're so great.

The crazy draws we get every year is why we are better in finals for example. The lack of perks (I'm being kind) is why we're better run. The history and pride is why we always produce the majority of the champions of the game ..

Change nothing other than giving me Wayne Campbell's job. I'd fix the umpiring in a month. It's actually pretty simple it involves telling the AFL publicly to GTFO of its direction and creating a clear mechanism for them and holding the maggots accountable to it.

Geelong wins: "We're steaming towards the Premiership! I'm so excited!"
Geelong loses: "The game's corrupt anyway, this'll be my last year following footy."
