3 recent flags but the Cats are nearly as broke as Brisbane. Why?

I ran into Steve Harris in Little Collins St on the day of the show. Had to ask for a photo - felt a bit silly but in light of 28 years of listening to his band, probably 40 albums (I buy different pressings, have the first ten year eps etc) and a week's worth of shirts, thought it warranted a request. 'Alright mate'.

Heard Janick was at the Cherry post show. Hope he was dancing.

Yeah but they can say
the Beatles
Rolling Stones
Bee Jees
ABBA

Etc

No gen y barista can even name me a great band.
No I mean your parents hate your music because they had those bands. They would have thought Maiden was too heavy, now your kid listens to cannibal corpse and your screaming at him to turn it down because it gives you a headache! There's lots of good bands nowadays but when you get older it's harder to like new music because you prefer things to be familiar.

Music is like a team machine isn't it. I remember the crazy times I had at the Dome nightclub and when I hear tracks from those days I get goosebumps and feel almost like I'm there again.

Modern bands make me want to institute Prima nocta on every Gen Y's Mrs.

Remember when you were a kid and you said you'd never be out of touch? You are now out of touch, and you are now starting sentences with "back in my day.":$

But if being out of touch means having no masculinity, no sense of adventure and needing a giant beard then I'm glad.

Oh who am I kidding. I'm as washed up as Pavlich.

The funniest part is the amount of Hawks the read the Addy
There's this thing called the internet now which means you can just read Hawthorn articles in isolation, no matter which paper. The Addy ones were the dumbest or funniest. I remember them saying there was no shame in Geelong being overtaken by Hawthorn though, and I have recommended this outlook for many handbagger flogs on here.

Because you're old and set in your ways. Just like your parents were.
I agree with you KP *shiver runs up my spine* but would like to point out that popular music is at an all-time low these days.

When I was growing up... (get off my lawn you damn kids!) we had Michael Jackson, Prince, U2, George Michael, Billy Joel, Lionel Richie, David Bowie, Phil Collins and acts like that dominating the charts. Now we have Rhianna, Justin Beiber & Nicki Minaj. That's a pretty enormous drop in talent right there.

Sure there's still great music being made but you really have to go out of your way to find it these days with popular culture being as putrescent as it is.

Still arse sore over 2011?
You never get over GF losses, and I have seen more than most. Does not change the fact that Hawthorns record is superior and you should thank them from 2011 because that prelim killed us whilst you got a walk in the park v West Coast. There was a reason we were out of gas in the last.

But they won 4, you won 3, they won three in a row and you could not even win two in a row. Cats were a very good side, they are a great side. As I said not many win 3 in a row, that is a mark of greatness.
