Geelong in the last 8-9 years after a week off with the bye are 14-0 the 2nd game/week after that.

A ridiculous record:
2009 Round 13: Win vs Port Adelaide 34pts
2009 Grand Final: Win vs St Kilda 12pts
2010 Round 14: Win vs Kangaroos 35pts
2011 Round 8: Win vs Collingwood 3pts
2011 Round 24: Win vs Collingwood 96pts
2011 Grand Final: Win vs Collingwood 38pts
2012 Round 14: Win vs Port Adelaide 38pts
2013 Round 14: Win vs Fremantle 41pts
2014 Round 10: Win vs North Melbourne 20pts
2014 Round 20: Win vs Fremantle 2pts
2015 Round 16: Win vs Bulldogs 8pts
2016 Round 17: Win vs Fremantle 17pts
2017 Round 14: Win vs Fremantle 2pts
2017 Semi-Final: Win vs Sydney 59pts

Stop the presses... good team wins a lot.
Not the first week after the bye/week off. 2 wins 11 losses was the stat but judging by the op there is one game missing from that.

How they can play so bad the first week after a bye and then kill it second up is a mystery.

It really is. Scott coached really well last night but I still think the combination of ensuring his players are on in terms of concentration/motivation/pressure etc is the big knock on him.

But now no more byes for Geelong so maybe they'll get it done.
