Haha. We won the minor premiership so Stanley isn't as bad as you imagine given you think ruckman are the difference to winning and losing games.

There's many factors that will decide this game but Grundy in the ruck isn't the deciding one no matter how much you parrot on that it is.
So you are saying that there are many factors that will decide this game, but Grundy isn’t one of them? What are your deciding factors out of curiosity?

So you will at least admit that he is one of the ‘many’ factors that will decide the game. Your post is pretty confusing but anyway good luck
Of course but the Geelong poster indicated that he'll be the sole difference and especially if he manages 40+ HO's and 20+ disposals. It's just not the case and that's been proven already this year.

Grundy has had 40+ hitouts and 20+ disposals 9 times this year and Collingwood has lost 4 of those games. And in those 4 losses he had 33 clearances by himself.

It's a very simplistic way to measure influence. .

He won't be the difference in this game.

Those 4 losses we played a very different style, tried to control the game by slowing it down. We play swarm and spread now so it should be interesting to see how it goes.

I'm goin, can't wait!

Geelong will not lose admirably.
We’ll either still be mind f’ed by Finals and be embarrassed.
Or
We’ve figured out Finals pressure and we’ll win.

This is one game I don't want money on

Cats have their finals issues, but the pies are bringing back players. Add to that recent form for both has been mixed, it's genuinely one where there is no clear fav imo

Agreed. We will all know in the first fifteen minutes what Geelong turned up. The final losses against Melbourne, Sydney in 2016, Ruchmond and Essendon in 2017, Geelong were off from the get go. If they come out firing, then it’s game on.

Will be a huge crowd and hopefully a ripping game. As the only AFL game in Melbourne for the weekend, it should be a big night.
How can it not be at the G???

Night is planned as followed
Step 1 - Enter box and "entertain" clients.
Step 2 - Go to Casino and continue step 1.
Step 3 - Wake up Saturday, buy the paper and find out who won.
Step 4 - Do it all again next week.

7 of the 8 times grundy has had over 25 disposals in the last 2 seasons Collingwood have won.

3 of Geelongs losses this season Stanley has had 9 disposals, 7 disposals and 8 disposals, his lowest disposal numbers for the season. If Stanley doesnt turn up Grundy will pick up 30 plus disposals 45+ hitouts and have the game on his terms.

Against who?

Yet he held his own in the ruck contests apart from the game against Port where Lycett beat him convincingly. If you think Grundy is the difference between winning and losing this game you're in for a shock.

Yes, yes you will.

Less involvement than Big boy and Mumford, and destroyed by Lycett in losses, thats all the evidence i need that theres potential to expose Geelong in this particular area.

I’m not under the impression one man will make all the difference, however its definitely a talking point rather than just being swept under the rug with no chance of happening.

I actually rate Stanley as an athletic ruck, and of course he potentially could play well, however if well beaten, he would hardly be Grundys biggest scalp, and i doubt many besides yourself will be shocked.

Stanley is our #1 ruckman and we won the minor premiership, inc round 1 with Grundy playing. That's all the evidence I need.

This game will be won or lost in other areas of the field and I'll get to that sometime before the game starts. Possibly this weekend.

I'll write a preview if you want me to back up my thoughts but the ruck won't be the issue.

As an aside, do you have any stats around boundary throw ins?

Pendlebury gave Geelong some big ammunition.

I'm actually supremely confident in this one.
The Pies have sure made it known how confident they’re this week..... I am really liking it, it is actually coming across as false bravado. I am very confident we will be up & about after what has been said, we’re always at our best when teams start to underrate us.

Easily the hardest Game of week one to pick but tipping the pies just. I wouldn't be surprised if they met again in the gf.

Hello All, Im new here. I bought a ticket to this game last week. Unfortunately I cant go anymore, where is the best place to sell the ticket?

Geelong or Collingwood board might be the first place to try.
