You would have to think the final 6 is pretty much set too.

After 10 rounds, Collingwood are undefeated on top with a percentage of 250%, we're 2nd on 8-2 with a percentage of 219.8%. Port Melbourne are 3rd, also on 8-2 with a percentage of 140.7%. Casey are 4th on 7-3 with a percentage of 187.5%. Essendon are 5th on 6-4 with a percentage of 152.5%, and Southern Saints are 6th on 5-5 with a percentage of 113.4%.

Just outside the 6 are the Western Bulldogs with a 4-6 record and a percentage of 74.6%, with Hawthorn in 8th with a percentage of 88.3%.

The Bulldogs play Essendon, St.Kilda, Casey and Collingwood on the way home, while Hawthorn play North Melbourne, Williamstown, Port Melbourne and us.

With five rounds to go in the VFLW season clubs have submitted their final list changes for phase two of the competition.

Some big names from the AFLW will be making appearances in the coming weeks as teams battle it out for finals spots.

Also making their way onto lists is the next generation, players from the NAB League and Under 19 National Championships who will be playing senior footy and showing their wares to recruiters ahead of 2021 National Draft.

GEELONG
Nina Morrison
, the 2018 number one draft pick, has been named to make her football return for Geelong in the VFLW after suffering her second ACL injury in 2020.

She will join a young Cats side that is arguably the in-form team of the competition - only ladder leaders Collingwood has a winning streak as long.

The current run of success has been off the back of Geelong’s young AFLW stars performing week in and week out in the VFLW. Darcy Moloney, Laura Gardiner, Georgia Clarke, Steph Williams and Olivia Barber have been the difference so far in the state league season.

Experienced players Amy McDonald, Bec Goring, Renee Garing, Richelle Cranston and Madeline Keryk will also return to the fold to continue after a tough AFLW campaign.

Sophie van de Heuval, Carly Remmos and Madisen Maguire have also been plying their trade this year in the VFLW, looking to improve.

Potential AFLW draftees joining the Cats lower level lineup include lively Vic Country forward Poppy Schaap, strong midfielders Tess Craven and Chloe Leonard, and interceptor Elizabeth Dowling, also from Vic Country.

I could think of a couple of seasons

- McWilliams has played her last game for Geelong but we're yet to see a formal announcement...

or

- I don't believe Hawthorn VFLW side have an affiliation with any AFLW teams & thus they are able to sign AFLW players who haven't been signed to play for their affiliated VFLW teams. As per that article, the Hawks VFLW team have signed a few AFLW players from other teams Mikayla Morrison (Freo), Alison Drennan (Suns), Perera (Eagles)

The article talks about this being 'Phase 2' of the season, and kinda reads that the earlier overlap between the AFLW & VFLW teams may not exist in the same manner now, instead clubs have been able to submit list changes & that includes adding AFLW players to the team lists for them to be selected to play

Phoebe McWilliams was also playing for Hawthorn before our AFLW team existed, so there's also that.

I don't have an issue with it - I'd rather use our VFLW side to pump games into our younger players, plus I'm pretty sure McWilliams lives in Melbourne so it'd make more sense for her to play with a more local team

Thanks, I wasn't aware you could play for another club if you were currently on one clubs list. My immediate thought the same as your first reason.

Good to see the game expanding at the local grassroots level...

For the first time in the competitions short yet growing history, there will be three divisions in Epworth Senior Female Football in 2021.

With Female Football participation ever-growing, a record 20 teams will compete across the three divisions of Female Football in season 2021.

Following four rounds of grading, the AFL Barwon operations team and grading committee have composed divisions that we believe will make teams and matches as competitive as possible.

For those interested, the teams in each division are as follows:

Division 1: St.Marys 1, Newtown & Chilwell 1, Grovedale, Geelong West Giants 1, Geelong Amateur 1, Barwon Heads 1.
Division 2: St.Marys 2, Newtown & Chilwell 2, Drysdale, Geelong West Giants 2, North Geelong, Lara.
Division 3: Geelong Amateur 2, Barwon Heads 2, St.Josephs, Anglesea, Torquay, St.Albans, Colac Imperials, South Barwon.

Further to this, there's also currently 10 teams at Under 18 level, 19 at under 15 level and 16 at under 12 level.

We've obviously taken over from where the Saints left off last night. We're currently leading 1.10.16 to 2.0.12. Have kicked 1.8 to zip this quarter.

11 scoring shots to 2, to lead by four points. That is truly about as bad as it gets.
