not sure who'd she replace though, probably Goring but I didn't think she was too bad last week.
I'm thinking that it's most likely Millie Brown - missed the second half against Carlton with hamstring tightness, so maybe not the best idea to chuck her on flight to WA and expect she'd be ok to get through the game. Especially as she missed a few games earlier this season due to soreness

Not the result we wanted with the gals this morning, but reading a few comments from Arj it seems that the Sydney gals may have had some favourable umpiring decisions

Must be teeming with rain out at Deakin. The commentators are debating whether to go home early as they're getting drenched despite being in a tent on the sidelines.

GEELONG has defied persistent rain to record its second-straight win of the VFLW season.

Captain Michelle Fedele’s late goal proved enough for the Cats to score an eight-point win over Southern Saints in a low-scoring slog at Deakin Uni on Saturday.

Coach Andrew Bruce was full of praise for Geelong’s efforts.

“It just rained non-stop, and it made the ball really heavy and slippery,” he said.

“But they just kept trying to push the ball forward. We managed to score a couple of goals, one late that sealed the game for us.

“Their endeavour was fantastic. We just took it back to basic footy of getting metreage forward.

“It was hard for the girls because you train so much to try and get some release handball.

“It’s not easy to change that at a moment’s notice, so we got caught out a couple of times trying to handball a bit too often.

“But as soon as we got the ball on boot, we certainly looked a lot better.”

AFLW-listed Madi Maguire put her hand up for a recall to the Geelong team for the final two rounds of the season after a standout display.

“She was really clean with the footy, whereas everybody else fumbled quite a lot, which was understandable,” Bruce said.

“But her workrate was fantastic.”

The VFLW Bendigo Bank Cats will be looking to continue their winning form in their Round 4 clash against Port Melbourne at Deakin University at 5pm on Saturday afternoon.

This will be the first time Geelong have faced Port Melbourne in the VFLW, with the club new to the competition in 2021. Both sides have had successful starts to the season, with the Cats winning their past two matches and Port Melbourne sitting undefeated on top of the ladder.

Geelong’s defence will be hard at work against the high-scoring Port Melbourne forward line but will be up for the challenge, having conceded just three goals during the last two rounds.
