To that Power supporter who expects his team to kick some Geelong butt next week, a word of warning! (on Geelong forum)
It appears that Geelong is now officially cut off from Melbourne due to the constant rain of the past few days. Apparently the rivers and creeks surrounding the town are not expected to peak until Thursday, that's if the rain stops now and it shows no sign of that at the minute. Given the fact that it is only Monday, and we still have Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to go before the flood reches it's peak, one would assume that it would take just as long to go down - ie Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
If this is the case, it is going to be difficult for the Port Power side to actually get to the ground next week let alone actually kick Geelong's backside into submission as so confidently stated.
Surprisingly the ground itself is in excellent condition given the buffeting it has received and Sunday's weather is expected to be fine, 19 degress,
Mark Thompson is in a similar position, he lives in Melbourne yet won't be able to get to training all week and won't be able to coach on Sunday is this keeps up. Assistant coach and former Bears coach Norm Dare lives locally so he could take over if needed.
What is the AFL's policy if one team turns up to play and the other doesn't due to factors such as accident, flood, fire etc.
