Review Geelong defeats Carlton by 28 points at KP

Lol. So it’s our fault that your team, on its own home ground that no other team seems to be able to beat you on, is responsible for the fact that your team was outplayed even though your team was technically ahead on points at the final siren. Which means that you won. Or did you?!!!
Lol.
If you doubt that your team can win the gf you are right!
We did good at Kardinia, alphabet soup, Park tonight.
You lost by 5 goals with the umpires doing their best to make it close.

It's why your club will never be any good, celebrating like you won the game ... takes me back to the 90's when our fans would cheer our players at the town hall after another GF loss.

Ummmm. . .isn't that their job?

According to frggr the support staff is paid by the club to clean the rooms + they're NOT actually 'flesh + blood' Geelong supporters, they're cleaning contractors.

This World is getting way too soft! Now people who are paid to clean, don't want to clean anything that's too messy!

Send them to a Catholic Girls' Boarding School + everyone on detention had to clean + clean + clean + clean!

I really am out now!

It's the most pathetic explanation/excuse I've EVER heard, Scott could learn a lot from those non-messy cleaner-upperers :rolleyes::rolleyes:

The cleaners didn't ask for it, the boys were being proactive about it.

It's like going to Maccas and leaving your tray on the table. Most people take their tray and empty it because they realise it's a little effort on their part to save effort on the part of some overworked employee. But there are a smaller group who leave their tray on the table because it's "Somebody's job to clean up after me".

I don't see a problem with the decision of the team, and I'm surprised that:

A) it's only been noticed now, despite the number of debutants we've had over the past few years
B) people are so defensive over a small act of respect from the team to the support staff.

It's hard enough getting young men with lots of money to behave like responsible adults (see: off field incidents etc) - we shouldn't piss on them when they do it of their own volition.

I left because there was literally no entertainment to be had watching your team play that appallingly. We were lucky to have only been playing Carlton. The teams response to the similar lack of effort from last week was nonexistent.
It was an absolute monstrosity to watch and I was on the verge of leaving at half time.

Poor game. Take the 4 points and move on.

Sickening injury to Sav. Hope it's not too bad.

One of the worst umpired games I've ever seen. For periods it seemed like number 32 was following the ball around just to pay free kicks against us.

A couple of highlights. Menegola's freak goal, and Duncan giving Danger the hurry up on the wing just in front of us :D

Fair weather at its finest. We don't need ya.

Just a bit too composed tonight.
All the best in recovery to the young lad.

Cheers, Red Bull :)

He's got a good attitude, so hopefully that puts him in good stead for what's likely to be a long recovery.

The Blues look like they're putting together something special after a few years in the wilderness. The intent's there and the rest will fall into place with a bit of luck, as you know.

Best of luck with the rest of the year. If you could catch a few other teams by surprise, we'd really appreciate it ;)

We actually applied pressure and confronted the ball carrier when Carlton got to within one kick, then when we got a couple back we reverted to the lazy jogging to guard space zone that we're persistent in playing.

We have too many lazy and soft footballers.
Its a long season. Not every win is going to be entertaining pretty football. You will get slow, boring grinding wins from time to time

I was born in 96 so am too young to remember the gf losses of the early 90s. Did did seriously happen? If so, that’s putrid

Sure did, and to a chorus of a packed city street. Players walked out to loud ruptures.

Yeah, it did, but footy was a bit different then, Geelong was a bit different then and we'd started playing well enough to play in GFs for the first time in ages. The losses still hurt.

Don't think you'd get the same reception these days.

What?
Re the 90’s. Have you forgotten how much we humiliated you in the 95 grand final?
I ,genuinely, felt sorry for Geelong the day after that crushing defeat.
Our teams don’t have a hateful rivalry.
Tonight may have been disappointing for you coz after last week you would have expectationed to belt us tonight. I thought you would have smashed us.
Naturally we are relieved that did not happen.
But no Carlton supporter can be happy with where we are now at. And the “socialist system” at the AFL, as John Elliott has famously described it, prevents us from recovering quickly.

Thats the way, easy to attacking a infrequent poster. Keep ya head fairly and squarely in the sand.
I agree. I love the club but I don't even go to KP because I don't really like it and it's a massive pain in the arse.
At least you actually went.
