As much as we all love Sav's potential, at this point in time a fit Jenkins would offer much more as a 2nd key forward/relief ruckman.

I don't follow much footy outside of Geelong. I was surprised at all the conjecture about him. He used to be pretty good. What happened?

Various thoughts

Guthrie, Menegola staying at this level and Rhys finding his best could be the final step we desperately need. Plus that Duncan class we didn’t have in the prelim last year...

Great signs Fogarty. No great Simpson fan but geez the kid gives his all. Respect.

There’s something there with Close. Plus I like the different look to the slightly staid Gaj-Dahl-Atkins. Close or even Cocky makes it more dynamic?

Thought Hendo was avg. Don’t like him and Harry in the same side, Hendo as back up only. Trouble turning and going to ground.

Big Tom has left (and more importantly given away) hundreds of goals out there. Underrated intelligence and skills in F50. Will be long missed, terrific player and teammate.

Agreed. The drill pass down the flank to Danger epitomises it for me. Other green players would have played it safe and popped it up, but he lowered his eyes and hit it with purpose. Same with his tackling and shots on goal - I reckon he has a quick brain and confidence to move the ball quickly and dangerously. Early days, but I have like his game.

In fact in retrospect its very hard to work out what game you were watching. Had the most metres gained which means he is taking on difficult long kicks and was in the top 5 for disposal efficiency. Probably needs to take your bronze coloured glasses off.

You could be right. I am at the point with Steven where the start to his time at Geelong has been so poor that now I only see the bad stuff he does, I am almost expecting him to screw up whenever he gets near the ball. Maybe I need to be a bit more objective about him.

Here’s hoping he can convince me that it was worth waiting on him and we can get some payback on the rubbish we have had to endure from him in the hoops thus far.
