Ratogulea out, Henderson in.

Stanley in,. Blicavs giving him a chop out when needed.

The team is beautifully balanced now.

Sav only gets in now on injuries.

Without injuries the only 2 I could see possibly getting into this side now would be Ablett and Cockatoo.
Surely they'll keep rotating. And what about Narkle, was looking good earlier in the year.

Yep, I think we've found our optimal structure.

Anyone who doubts the benefits of staying up near the top of the ladder instead of bottoming out need only look at the development of players like Bews, O'Connor and Henry. Constant competiveness has allowed them to grow, learn from their mistakes and improve with the protection of a strong defensive unit around them who can scaffold them through the process of becoming better players. Imagine if we had bottomed out and they were surrounded instead by players as young or even younger than them. Their mistakes would be amplified further and there would be far greater risk that their bad games - if they occurred in big losses and if they occurred with the rest of the defensive unit also crumbling around them - would do far longer-lasting damage to their confidence.

Just a shout out to Hendo...to think he was almost not on our list until Abbott walked...yes he gets injured sometimes but when he is fit he still has it..great attitude from him and we are building some great squad depth.

Was that Bews' first ever game without an OOF?

I know it sounds crazy. But who goes out for him? And he potentially reduces our pace and hasn't played footy for a month by the time he becomes available. You'd obviously want him in but they'll have to figure out how to use him in a team that is running beautifully. He naturally plays the role Miers has been playing.

Likewise Narkle for that matter. Parfitt and Atkins would be looking over their shoulders.

Parfitt is best 22. His defensive game is outstanding.
