I'd do it if you rated the youngster

Maybe a slight issue with the Young gun thinking he can screw with the club but since 3 out of 5 rookies get delisted anyway it won't really cost the club that much.

All you are really doing is saying you have to pay this young kid that you rate very highly an extra rookie wage and you only have 4 rookies

(plus have a little piggy guy run around with your VFL affilliate - most likely in the VFL reserves)

Small price to pay really

if you dont believ me i can name every other player there. there was about 30 of us. Only 2 will be picked. And i can tell you it prob wont be harvey.

scott thompson (south barwon), renwick watts(colac), rob condy(newtown) hayden foss(st.joseph's), tom o'dwyer(newtown) and tim sherringham(geelong falcons/bell park) are just a few names to mention who were at the rookie try outs.

By the way they have told us it is 2!!

At the trial this harvey fellow struggled in the time trial coming last but was top 5 in the goal kicking competition. He was posing for reg ryan of the geelong news before training. My tip he wont get the chance though!

The source cant be named but if you know local football you should know the local link between modda and geelong. The exact source let it out 4 weeks before nathans' signing that he was nominating for the draft.

As much as it sounds like bullsh@# it is true. The player, Harvey has never played senior footy. modda have had a few play seniors in the season just gone so it is unbelieveable that geelong are considering this move.
Is that your pants on fire?

After everything I have read and seen about Nathan Ablett I have no problem in believing this is absolutely possible. Geelong are stupid. Ablett doesnt even want to play AFL... he is only doing it because Geelong and his mates are putting pressure on him to. Who the hell drafts a kid that has not even played at a semi decent level within his own age group and who shows absolutely no signs of wanting to become a professional footballer. Ablett has said himself he just wants to play with his mates... so it would be no surprise if he made it a condition of him going to Geelong. Absolutely laughable that this prick has a position on an AFL list where a kid who tries his guts out and worked hard to play AFL misses out.

Hoggy has no idea why I use that name,so don't worry about it.
I'd assume your implying that Leon Davis only gets a gig at Colingwood because he's black.

Whilst I'm not at all offended, I can see how this can be percieved as racist.

Nathan Ablett has taken another strange move in his early career by insisting that his close mate from Moddewarre be rookie listed. The request was made to Mark Thompson and it is feared that thompsons love for Ablett will waste Geelong a rookie list spot.

The nominated player is a fellow moddewarre teamates by the name of Brendan Harvey who is believed to be just a middle tear player at that club in the Bellerine Football League. He is understood to be lightweight and it is poised to be one of the most contreversal pickings in AFL history.

The source is the MFC and a certain Geelong player from that particular area.

The VFL season is over and Brendan Harvey played a total of 0 games.

Have you got anymore classic stories from your MFC and certain Geelong player from that particular area ?

Yer, you're right the guy failed to get a game in a talented VFL side this year but you've got to remember that Geelong's VFL side was quite successful therefore making it near impossible to get a game. But I am happy to inform you that Brendan Harvey did prove his critics wrong by polling 2nd in the BFL league best and fairest as well as finishing fourth in the goalkicking for the league on 66 goals. Not bad for a 5 ft 10 rover / forward pocket. No doubt will get a guernsey in Geelong's VFL side next year after Nathan Ablett has been getting in Bomber's ear.
