Hmmm. Well, if you're that keen on Murdoch playing full forward, perhaps you're the one who needs to speak to Chris.

Honestly, whilst Jordan's pace is electric, and he has a big hoof, I don't recall his overhead marking to be exceptional.
Overhead? Overrated commodity. Lead and chest mark when you have that sort of zip.

We seem to be in denial about more inside grunt Bobby_
We have GHS in and out of the side like a yo yo , Jansen gets overlooked ( he's played 3 very good games and one poor one at Lions ) , hopefully SS , GHS or Menegola can boost our inside game.
We desperately need a deep , balanced and in form midfield if we are to do any damage in September. If we can win games with Dangerwood getting low 20's each then we will be a better and far more unpredictable side. Clock is ticking though , not much time to get it right.:(

You're absolutely right but we can't ignore that we've been crippled by inside mid injuries in the last few weeks. Caddy, SS, Cockatoo, GHS and Menegola were all either unavailable for selection on the weekend due to coming back from injury or in Cockatoo's case it was his first game back.

I look at our best team and it's a really well-balanced, deep midfield. Unfortunately we don't have much depth there and once we start shuffling guys like Guthrie, Blicavs and Duncan into contested roles we lose-out massively in other areas. That's a symptom of having depth players who are inexperienced and young. Give Lang another 3-4 years and he'll be able to compete on the inside. Same with McCarthy, Cockatoo, Gregson, etc but it's hard to expect it when they've only played 20-odd games.

Can we get a straight swap, Rohan for Motlop? Or will we need to chuck in a draft pick to sweeten the deal?

I see him more like Menzel than Murdoch to be honest. I realise Menz doesn't have his pace but Rohans' game forward last night was very Menzel like
Both are very , very good above their heads as well and seem natural footballers..........unlike poor Jordan:(
I actually think that Murda is quite a natural footballer, in terms of see ball get ball natural ability.... I think he really struggles with the mental side of the game (awareness, reading of the play etc)

He thinks too much - about doing the right thing - rather than just taking his first option. Release him to play his more natural game and IMO there will be an improvement. Im not saying he cant play to team rules and structures but if was given the license to just play - some of his frustrating moments would dissipate.

Go Catters

You'll have to talk to the coach. But I am serious, I could really see Murdoch thrive there- very quick off the mark, and a decent mark and kick, good size body. What to lose?

Problem is Murdoch doesn't have a football brain to be a forward. He's always a split second or two behind the play. Don't like to bag our players, but I can't see why he keeps getting game.

Agree. He tries not to make mistakes , and tries to do what the coaches describe in front of a white board, rather than respond to what the immediate moment offers.
On Friday one play showed this glaringly. Murdoch took possession wide on a flank about 70m out. He was hemmed in but facing goal with a clear left foot. Instead of putting the ball to the sweet spot 30m out straight away, he handballed to Dangerfield. Dangerfield was in poor position and had no room for his right foot. Opportunity lost. He is not playing on instinct and scared of making a mistake.

I think he needs to spend time in the VFL and agree that a brief that says simply - take the game on is the way to go. Lets see what he can do. Across half back or on the wing for me.

Nothing in it I reckon.
He may or may not be traded this year... but several people say he will come to Geelong as FA at season end 2017.
The questions for Swans is ..
What happens if UFA lose their comp next year?
If they get comp , what would it be and would it be advantageous to trade him early?

Nothing in it? We will soon see I guess.

Rohan has re-signed with Sydney until 2020. Just been announced
