Geelong on the way down?

The main thing is the AFL still turns a blind eye to evidence they have received benefits beyond the cap

And they still get double the free kicks every week (check the stats, it’s laughable)

So they should be fine
Our cap is fine because we don't pay players to play for other clubs.
In recent times we've had two players (Tim Kelly and Esava Ratugolea) request trades while under contract, and the club held both of them to their contracts because they didn't want to pay them to play elsewhere.

How much were Collingwood paying Adam Treloar and Brodie Grundy to play for other clubs?

Umpire payments outside the cap then?

Paying players to play at another club is a disadvantage brother.

Your sponsors paying for off field benefits is salary cap cheating and an advantage, and it’s being ignored despite recent evidence

Now with a top 10 they will make the finals forever being the only Vic team with a home ground advantage and the AFL constantly propping them up and ignoring their dodgy player contracts.
We finished 12th in 2023.
There is every chance we finish outside the top 10 again in the future, we've had an amazing run over 20 years thanks to assembling an all time great team in the 2000s which was followed by getting Chris Scott who is an all time great coach.

I can see us falling after Scott retires as we won't be able to replace him with someone of the same calibre, and it'll be the first time in a very long time where we find ourselves without either an all time great team or an all time great coach.

Please.

Your all time great coach has won 1 flag of his own in 15 years and inherited another from Bomber.
And the 1 he won only came from inside influence in the stand rule.
You benefit from your unique home ground advantage, ~5 games on the G each year and the Umpires magic carpet ride.

When Scott retires, your next coach will receive all the same benefits, you'll maintain your finals run, and they too will be regarded by Cats fans as the 2nd coming of Jesus

They'll be fine. That was a proper heavy weight fight and it could have gone either way.

Edwards is a find.

What is your criteria for an AFL coach to be deemed as an All Time Great coach?

Yeah, I reckon they look like they are falling and failing all the way down unfortunately. It's not nice but you know.

What is your criteria for an AFL coach to be deemed as an All Time Great coach?
Chris Scott has the greatest win percentage of anyone to have coached 300 games or more, and he is a tactical mastermind.

Half our squad is made up of rookies and 3rd/4th round draft selections, it is testament to the quality of Scott's coaching that he manages to get so much out of our side.

I'll ask you again - what is your criteria for an AFL coach to be deemed as an All Time Great coach?

World War III may pass, the AFL will dissolve, civilisation as we know it may end, we may go back to the stone age, and Geelong will still be contending in finals.

Edwards is a find.

Funny thing is Conway could seriously become one of the best rucks in the competition if only his body can get right.

A ruck combination of Conway & Edwards in 2027 will be handy.

Geelong have a god awful midfield.
Probably the worst midfield since Pickering, Kilpatrick, Riccardi and Spriggs were running around.

Crying about Geelong again.

Our half forward and half back lines hurt us more today.

Miers, Cameron and Mannagh awful.

Humphries, Jack Henry and Zuthrie next to useless.

Do you always attribute credit to the coach for being able to pay players like Cameron outside the salary cap?

2 flags in 15 years is only decent when your club has been allowed to cheat with player payments.
Numerous Afl investigation revealed no cheating but its clear debutant poster Maces knows more

Are you surprised? They always get one of their guys in the upper echelon of AFL administration. Steve Hocking and now Craig Drummond and Tom Harley. They will always get favourable umpiring and an easy fixture (including yet another easy run into the finals).
Hello person who is totally a brand new Hawthorn supporter and absolutely not yet another alt.....
