bullshit. wet, slippery game where there is a hundred tackles, many similar with the tackled player's momentum going forward and the grandstanding umpires pluck one out with less than 2 minutes remaining. allowances must be made when it is slippery and players can't keep their feet.

Your poll is worthless and shit without accounting for bias from saints and cats fans.

Vote in the proper thread here:

What's the point in creating a poll where two of the three options are in favour of your agenda, as is your thread title?
Yep, I forgot to add a Cats/Saints option.

To answer your second question though, the reason I had those three options because they were the three prevelant opinions of the 400 post thread on the main board.

I didn't add the "It wasn't a free kick but there should be a rule about it" option because clearly nobody is of that opinion.

Maybe I should have added an 'undecided' option:rolleyes:

Mooney did not kick that goal. 6 points for a goal (incorrect call) - 1 point for a rushed behind (correct call) = 5 point closer to St Kilda.
You are right sir
and the free was there

great win from the saints hayes was epic as allways thrashed selwood the poser, and im getting really sick of the win been called contraversal

The one that was given a goal when it was a rushed behind. Mooney claimed that he kicked it.
Not sure how you could make a call either way - the video evidence was very inconclusive. Looked to me to clearly be two separate contacts and the goal ump was in the best position.

As for people blaming Mooney for losing us the game - grow up. He executed a perfect tackle and only got penalised because Gwilt leant forward and forced him onto his back. Whether it is a free kick or not, it shouldn't be, especially not in the wet. It's no better than being penalised for a high tackle when someone ducks.

Good point and you make sense, unfortunately however, in the land of AFL common sense does not prevail.

Free kick absolutely every day of the week. Anyone who doesn't think so is WAY behind in the modern game. Clearly a push in the back, it's been paid all throughout the season and I have no idea why being a finals game should change that, rules are rules, get over it.

If that isn't enough then what about Geelong's cheap frees? Notably Steve Johnson earlier.

Perhaps you should change your sig to: We are Geelong, the second greatest team of all

Was an obvious free kick. Its astonishing how many threads have been created on this topic.

you ARE NOT allowed to tackle someone in the back. Its the rules of the game.

They are pretty bloody lenient if you at least turn the guy in the tackle, Mooney didn't even do that.

Just because Gwilt leant forward doesn't give Mooney the right to tackle him in the back, he could have tackled him differently, he chose not to, and he lost out.

EDIT: lol oops didn't mean to bump a 2 day old thread... I'm just so sick of seeing these threads, can't help myself i guess :p
