Geelong rorting the system

You know cycling fans used to believe that a guy that had cancer could win 7 Tours of France 🤣🤣🤣 Cats fans in the equalisation era remind me of those cycling fans.
Talk about sour grapes. Absolutely pathetic, but to be expected from certain Richmond supporters

And Falcon, its Tour de France, not Tour of France, LOL

Credit to the journo at Scotty's presser today, asking about oppo fans dripping with envy about everything involving the Premiership Printer aka Geelong - very relevant to today's discussions. Not sure if he's been reading our fred, but either way people seem to be laughing at you guys a lot...

There is no way that isn’t scripted. Chris Scott isn’t that good an actor to pull it off with a straight face.

He says pretty much the same every time he’s asked a question that demands that sort of answer:

‘I don’t care about punters.’
‘I don’t care about the media.’
‘I don’t care about opposition supporters.’

Yeah I’m not sure he’s gonna need a team or script writers to basically give a reversed version of ‘I care about my club and that’s it.’

The journos question is what’s scripted. What response was he expecting?

but again, I don't get it

2 cups in 15 years is slightly better than the 2 in 18 years expected for the comp average.

what is this perception of 'premiership printing'?

I get it for Bomber Thompson's era, but not the Scott era.

Ralphy, the journo today, this fred - the Premiership Printer has been widely acknowledged as the most envious thing in football. Fully-inked and ready to keep printing to the chagrin of many! (insert unintelligible printing noises)🖨️

But that’s not the average expected, is it. If you win two in 18 years, you’re winning above the average, even not allowing for the fact that the average expected is 1 in 18 but we allow for the fact that the two newest teams haven’t been around for 18 years yet.

So forgetting them, if there were still 16 teams, the average would be 1 in 16. We’ve won 1 in the last 13 completed seasons. 2 under 14 completed seasons under Scott.

There’s no such parameters in which ‘2 in 18’ is an expected average. If the cycle was to just ‘start again’ then we have done our duty basically through until the mid 2040s and don’t really need to worry about any pressure being on us until then.

Shhhh, new rort unlocked!

THE GROUP of 54 players selected to get access to the AFL's new $35 million marketing fund has been locked in, with the game's biggest names set to cash in with the lucrative allowance.

Collingwood superstar Nick Daicos, West Coast young gun Harley Reid, Geelong recruit Bailey Smith and Sydney gun Isaac Heeney are all a part of the group from the AFL competition.

I think falling just short repeatedly in the last decade+ has led to the rumoured sanctions.

Hardwick’s Richmond asked ‘why not us’ in 2017

Scott’s Geelong would have asked ‘why not us’ in 2019 also.

Same question, very different tone, not hope but desperation.

But let’s revisit once everything has been made transparent, but I think that will have been the kernel of it all.
I knew you'd still be going.

Headf***ed.

Feels like a waste giving up one of our best people when we already control everyone at AFL house anyway.
Our former premiership skipper Tom Harley would be my choice under the guise of him being a 'Sydney person', plus we get to keep Mackie for ripping other clubs off come trade time.

The Geelong fans in here think the GFC is admired by the football public. Nothing could be further from the truth. Fans know when a club has won with grace and sportsmanship compared with cheating and gaining the system that lacks both grace and sportsmanship compared. The GFC has no admirable qualities, it has some admirable players who haven’t been lead there ($$) from other clubs. Players like Duncan and Guthrie and Myers and guys that have made it the hard way like Mannah. As for the mercenaries, they are what’s wrong with football and society really.

Geelong are the battlers fighting against the system. Bunch of hacked together rookies and category B players from other sports taking it up to rest of the comp. The underdogs/cats with the equal most premierships this century. 😍

Mercenaries like 2016 premiership decider Tom Boyd and 2025 recruit of the year* Matthew Kennedy? Adam Treloar has always bled red white and blue as well.

Let it out. We're here to help ease your pain.
Spill your ills and your Geelong overlords may feel merciful.

Yeah. People changing jobs is definitely a big issue with society.

I love the geniuses with conspiracy theories about the AFL being able to decide who wins and loses flags. Why even follow the sport if you think it’s rigged? Watch pro-wrestling instead - the costumes are better!
Lol, the AFL, via its onfield lever, literally gifted the Dogs the '16 flag.
They went in dry on a side that embarrassed them over the Franklin trade, you reckon they wouldnt fix you mob to avoid this all coming up again in the near future?
Because I can guarantee you, should the Cats win a flag anytime soon, the wider AFL community will make sure its at the forefront of discussion.

If Geelong win another flag people will cry again. Breathtaking observation by you as always.

The Franklin trade that was supposed to see Buddy end up at GWS…..

So wouldn’t the AFL if this deliberate conspiracy was true, have ensured that the week before, GWS went through to the grand final, instead of being -10 in the free kick count against the Dogs in a game decided by less than a kick?

The whole idea of this theory is predicated on the premise that they wanted Buddy to go to GWS and not Sydney but the Swans f**ked that idea up: ergo they wanted GWS to succeed.

So wouldn’t it make sense for their first port of call, before ensuring Sydney loses, to make sure that it’s the team they wanted Franklin to go to who is beating them?
