Geelong rorting the system

It's easy have a war chest when your sponsors pay the coach and some players.
I'm not sure how you can feel satisfied with winning when you know you have cheated.

The same way you did when you were winning games. We play with all the same rules and regulations available that you do. We just don’t shit the bed when another team does it better than us and put it on the scoreboard and make an excuse as to why it shouldn’t count.

The state government funded stadium upgrades is something no other gets in such quantity and it seems to happen on a regular basis.

I doubt Fremantle or the Eagles will need such regular upgrades having had a $1.6 billion stadium plonked on their doorstep within the last decade, do you?

We do have a war chest because we invested in the draft.
Being forced down the bottom thru becoming the worst performing team in the league, you really had no choics but to go the draft.

Prior to that you tried extensicely to avoid the draft, spending all your capital on Taranto and hopper.

Things Richmond fans celebrate in the Geelong vs Richmond shit fight:

1. Kicking Geelong’s arse in the 2017 QF and becoming the eventual premiers
2. Coming from behind to break Geelong’s hearts in the 2019 PF and becoming the eventual premiers
3. Coming from behind to break Geelong’s hearts in the 2020 GF and becoming the eventual premiers

Things Geelong fans celebrate in the Geelong vs Richmond shit fight:

1. Only getting a small fine for salary cap cheating
2. A Mitch Cleary video claiming Stephen Hocking said at a function Geelong have a “war chest”
3. Having a list in no man’s land every season and bragging about not bottoming out

We are not the same.
Youre right bro, that season 3 years ago was pretty much no mans land. They looked pretty confused also up on the stage not knowing what was going on

We're on the right track. Stay on topic, this thread is about Geelong rorts.

On the topic of “Doing a Bradbury”, honest question for the Geelong supporters. How do you view 2008? Did Hawthorn do a Bradbury in that GF? They finished 2nd (so were good enough to win on the day), but Geelong went 21-1 and won by decent margins in the QF and PF.
We looked shaky against the dogs in the prelim, and our fitness injury management in the back end of the year was not good.

In the GF we probably should have put the game beyond reach in the second half but I do recall the Hawks playing the better footy over the four quarters.

Surely now that the AFL has concluded their investigation into Geelong's 3rd party payment records - and found SFA in terms of breaches (and certainly no evidence of systematic ''rorting'') - this thread is actually due to be closed, Moderators?

Thread premise has been debunked and resolved.

Tarantos contract was 5 mil over 7 years was what was reported... that's only in the 700's. Smith would be on more taking into account cotton on money

Hopper was reported as $750k and Taranto a bit higher.

Contracts increase with the cap. They'd both be on well over $900k now. That's more than Smith and far more than Holmes.
