They tried it but they lost anyway. If the Afl was serious about equalisation they would let Geelong play finals at gmhba.

It's not even symmetrical, it's a cheat ground with weird dimensions that should have never been allowed to be turned into a 40K stadium without fixing it up along the way.
Seriously Elixuh you need to either finally improve your posting standard or vacate the main board.
We shouldn't all need to lose brain cells reading your gibberish.

I think we found the smoke they're smelling....Where’s the smoke? People on a forum saying that there’s smoke?
How compelling
Geelong started playing there in 1941, Fremantle had already won 10 flags at that stage but had split into South and East Fremantle in the early 1900’s to give everyone else a chance. Easts had won another 18 flags by 1941.![]()
Been the same shape and size many decades before your club was born in a test tube.
Somehow I think your grandad's generation didn't whinge about cheat grounds etc.
A uniquely Bigfooty idiocy.
AFL focus is fine. 4 flags to 0, despite Fremantle having many home finals compared to just 1 for Geelong.Geelong started playing there in 1941, Fremantle had already won 10 flags at that stage but had split into South and East Fremantle in the early 1900’s to give everyone else a chance. We’ve got a rich history, seems like the people around your club are still desperately trying to get yours included in the vfl stats that make up the “AFL”.
Nice deflection. WAFL flags have never mattered in this comp. VFL flags always have.Geelong started playing there in 1941, Fremantle had already won 10 flags at that stage but had split into South and East Fremantle in the early 1900’s to give everyone else a chance. Minnow? We have won a final at your misshaped home ground and you haven’t even done that yet.I’ve always hated included anything outside AFL era personally but that’s just me.
So 4 Flags to 0. In a competition with constant prop ups for shit teams to use incentives to suck so they can be successful.
Cats haven’t done that for basically 2 decades which is two thirds of your existence in the AFL.
In fact, Geelong has never finished lower than 12th….ever.
What are we even doing debating here.
It’s comparing a relevant big club and a minnow club set up to fail by the WA governing body of footy.
Both are truths, I’m sure many on Freo board would agree.
Where do you keep the trophy for that?Minnow? We have won a final at your misshaped home ground and you haven’t even done that yet.

Membership numbers? You mean the new AFL stat that can be made up with pets, free tickets and mailing lists?Yes, minnow. You’re not seriously going to argue against that are you?
Freo is a smaller club, 13th biggest membership numbers, only higher than GC, GWS (who are being propped up by the League itself) and the 3 minnow Melbourne clubs in Doggies, Norf and Saints. Lower than teams like Brisbane who aren’t even in a footy state and Port who are heading back to tarp territory.
Freo are a club that the WA footy commission didn’t want, the AFL didn’t want and both set them up to fail.
It’s actually disgusting how they were treated on entering the League, no nepo baby treatment like a certain other couple expansion clubs.
BUT LETS GET BACK ON TRACK TALKING ABOUT OVALS AND RORTS.
Playing Finals at a certain ground has no standing on if a club is a minnow or not because Finals games are determined by the League not the clubs themselves.
Geelong do nothing more or less than any other club does when it comes to recruiting players. Stats even show how players were drafted and recruited, the Dogs fans were whinging about Cotton On and Smith when they have recruited MORE players over time from other clubs than the Cats have, Cats have Successfully drafted more best 22 level rookie draft and Cat B players than any other team.
That’s a skill issue, not a “rort” issue.
Powerhouse vs running joke.Membership numbers? You mean the new AFL stat that can be made up with pets, free tickets and mailing lists?
We make more per membership than any other team as we don’t bother with the fake stuff. We have a high we home attendance than Geelong and get basically the same AFL distribution as Geelong. We’re no more a minnow than you.
Some even cry about other clubs being successful. The people posting that this club or that club are ‘minnows’ are just moronic. Who cares whether your club is big, medium or smaller, or a micro start up? It means stuff all, and says more about the poster’s inferiority complex. We all love and defend our clubs. Some even defend them when they’re cheating the system.

Oh please. Other grounds arent perfectly symetrical either. A couple of metres short on one side changes nothing. Absolutely nothing. It's not even symmetrical, it's a cheat ground with weird dimensions that should have never been allowed to be turned into a 40K stadium without fixing it up along the way.
It's the perfect ground for corridor football, which is the best brand of footballOh please. Other grounds arent perfectly symetrical either. A couple of metres short on one side changes nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Its positives far far outweigh its negatives in terms of suiting afl football compared to other grounds.
Narrow wings and long length is what we need for afl to limit all the kicking sideways, make it harder for teams to flood defences and make it harder for teams to deny scoring by booting it to packs on far off wings.
Im not saying kardinia park is plato's perfect afl oval. But its much closer then the others. Its the afl oval that is closest to the true essential form of an afl oval. I think afl fields should be another 25 metres longer and no wider then kardinia park.
It's an odd shaped ground that would be illegal if there was any rules about grounds.Cheat ground…. Because…. Because one team what, gets the ball and the ground changes shape while they have the ball and then changes again when they don’t?
You’re saying that footballers who get paid between $150,000-$1.4 million a year to kick a ball are thwarted because of a boundary line and can’t navigate their way around a stadium and find teammates in similar attire, and dispossess opponents in contrasting attire, because of where the boundary is.
It’s certainly an interesting theory*
*excuse
So in other words completely legal?that would be illegal if there was any rules about grounds.
Picking holes in your posts is so easy, particularly on this subject as we all know you have never been to the ground. It's an odd shaped ground that would be illegal if there was any rules about grounds.
6 days a week? You just made that up. In Summer the team trains at Deakin University. Also , your players train on it 6 days a week, no other Victorian club gets that advantage.
What difference does a boundary line make? Why expend energy hugging the boundary line when you can play direct, corridor football which is the best brand of football? What is the benefit of playing on oval that is almost a circle?Having straight boundary lines would be foreign to every footballer in the country.
It's like saying murder would be legal if there were no laws against it. Classic AristotleSo in other words completely legal?![]()
