In all honesty Geelong are a bit of a scapegoat in all this because Brisbane are rorting the system MUCH MUCH MUCH more and better then Geelong are, but then no one cares?
Its truly bizarre.

Ive gone through them many times. AFL literally gave Brisbane 6 mill more last year then North Melbourne and they ended up putting 4.3 mill of that money into the bank account as a fixed deposit. Meanwhile North has to sell 2 home games to make 2.5 mill to even up the books
How they get away with it is crazy
It even goes all the way back to 2010 when Fevola was paid outside of the salary cap when he got sacked (only time this ever happened)... You can write a novel on the shit Brisbane has done that others have not had the opportunity to

You gave Brendon Fevola millions of dollars to not play football which you got as a interest free loan from the AFL to do so and then paid him outside the salary cap....
TBH that isnt even the dumbest way Brisbane has spent money either
. You did spend millions on the upgrading of the AFLW arena seating capacity from 8500 to 11,000 despite the fact the attendance is at like 3,000 people

Nope. That was Collingwood issue with it at the time and why they were so reluctant to get rid as opppsed to Brisbane who dumped Fev 5 seconds after AFL gave you the cheque
Football isn’t played at Hungry Jacks franchises. It’s played within the AFL system. A system set up to favor Brisbane heavily because they are scared that if Brisbane play poorly they will have the 25,000 members they had in 2015 compared to the 63,000 it has in 2024….

Yeah, you can understand supporters of other clubs getting pi55ed off. The other clubs tank then get priority and high draft picks and still no success. Or they try and copy Geelong's blueprint for an ageing team only to see it not fail at the wrong time. Or they enjoy success for a few years and then disappear into oblivion.
