Geelong rorting the system

The MCG is your second home ground that the players know back to front.
A Richmond player in a top 4 team will generally play 17 games and most finals at the MCG - their actual home ground.

A Geelong player in a top 4 team will generally play 7 or 8 games at the MCG after finals. It used to be about half that before Geelong started winning modern day premierships.

I heard that after the end of seasons calculations , based on finishing position, Geelong had the 5th easiest fixture of the year.
any team playing essendon twice had an easy fixture this year

We play less games at our home ground this century than any team in the league, and have only played one final there. But yes, it really should be renamed the Geelong Football League, because it is rare to see a game played anywhere else. it certainly shouldn't be called the MCG league, where most matches, most finals and all non-Covid grand finals are played.

Not possible. Glenferrie then Princes Park then Waverley were our home grounds. Since then we have had a home ground in Launceston and play there 4 times a year. How many games a year does Geelong have at the peanut ground?

I see you're one of these "no team that shares the MCG can call it their home ground" types. Hawthorn doesn't quite have the MCG advantage that Collingwood, Richmond and Melbourne do due to their Launceston deal. It still plays there more than most sides and given that's where all Victorian finals + grand finals are played - it is in an advantageous position overall. It is an MCG league and whoever gets to play there the most is better off. That is why Geelong is in a much better position in 2025 compared to 2007 - more than twice as many H&A games at the G. If we ended up playing there 8 times we would be even better off. This is the same reason we have it easier than Marvel tenants who barely get to play at the G. It's also true of non-Vic sides, but they do get genuine home finals until GF day to offset that.

BigVic how did you feel about nick daicos being snubbed onto the bench for the AA squad, over bailey smith?

  • -Chris Scott salary rort.
-Home ground advantage not afforded to other Melbouurne clubs.
-Only Melbourne team allowed to train on their home ground 6 days a week.
  • Rule Changes by Hocking
  • Oppo supporters unable to secure tickets to Kardinia Park matches.
  • Less travel than most teams
  • Government funding more than any club over recent years.
  • Bullying tactics against teams in player trades such as Bulldigs and Bailey Smith.
  • Many ex-Geelong players in AFL appointed positions.
  • Chris Scott's constant whinging to influence AFL decisions.
He's got you there Meowy.

Refer to my 10 point check list

Your 10 points had half that were emotional rants with no basis in logic and the other half could easily be explained with examples with other clubs further benefiting or capitalising.

Referring back to nonsense doesn’t make it correct.

Ok just take the 5 points on board then.

Seriously, I cant believe this thread is still up and running? Have Geelong been found out to be doing something that would deem them as cheating? If No - then move on. If Yes - then what is the AFL doing about it?

If they haven't been found to be doing anything wrong then this thread should be closed.

Too many emotional posters. The bickering is pointless and petty. Its stupid also.

Finals footy starts on Thursday 4 September, and people in here want to argue and debate if Geelong have cheated or not?

Seriously. Enough. Lets talk about Finals. Not this.

And where did you play pre-modern day finals? Not at Pork Barrel Park.
