Geelong rorting the system

The only conspiracy theory here that has any substance is that the AFL is sufficiently concerned to carry out an investigation in the first place.
Of course, were Geelong to fit Curnow in their salary cap then these concerns would be amplified.

It would depend how we did it.
My NRL team the roosters cop salary cap (salary sombrero as it’s referred to) accusations every season but the nuffs that bring it up seem incapable of understanding that we don’t keep paying the players we let go.

For the record there is no circumstance right now under which I want Curnow to come to Geelong as I think in the long term Neale represents better value for money. But you would think that getting him would mean we offload Neale, we already lose Duncan who is retiring, and I would assume probably Cam Guthrie who will do the same. Gjven the likely upgrades to a couple of players at least, that leaves us needing to probably offload at least 1-2 more especially if we still wanted to gain Worpel. Stanley would be the other retirement candidate. But again we are looking at bringing Marshall in to replace him.

Just dont want to admit we turn so many rookies into guns enabling us to trade in star players due to the free cap room playing rookies and ex rookies give us.

Just cant admit we succeed by being brilliantly run.

Pathetic.
No I actually agree you guys are well run. I also think there is truth to my post.

I think Geelong are a well oiled machine that will always be there. Same with Collingwood.

Richmond have always been a feast or famine club. In an 18 team competition we dominated and had a brilliant dynasty in 17-20. I would still rather that than be consistently close every year yet have one, maybe two flags to show for it in the past 14 years.

Different methods, different results. From 2029 onwards we will have a big resurgence, it's almost unavoidable with our draft haul last year and this year.

Richmond are very efficient. You only need to bother watching their games in blocks of 4 or 5 seasons once every 40 years.

Tune in to AFL 360 tonight to see Garry Lyon crown Geelong captain Patrick Dangerfield his season MVP with another 3-vote game. The prize? A Ford Mustang GT.

Geelong captain winning a Ford Mustang GT. Open your eyes, sheeple!
Salary cap rort. I hope we lodge the paperwork for this one.

Haha, dreaming mate. You will still be shit in 2030 mate. Going by your own feast famine cycle there is minimum thirty years between feasts so you might be waiting until 2050.

Maybe telling some falcons boys to hold off a little bit before the draft.
Hey mate, I get it's your life ambition to get drafted, but how about you just play shit for the next 18 months and I promise we will pick you up with pick 99 of the rookie draft when you are 22 years old and you will win stacks of premierships and be given an alpaca farm, a Raptor and a lifetime Cotton On discount.

Geelong wont always be there. We are having a good couple of decades. Just like blue and bombers once did. Both are ordinary now.

Paddy just said the quiet part out loud on his Brownlow interview with Bec Maddern.

Bec: "What's your look ahead for the week?"

Danger: "We've got the day off tomorrow, so, we're heading down to Ed and Charlie's property"

*Camera pans to Charlie Curnow.

How many times have the Cats missed finals since every other team left their suburban grounds and the Cats didn't?

And since these other suburban grounds were abandoned (2005 for OO but you can go back further) if you take out all games played in Geelong, who do you think still wins more games than anyone? Remarkably stupid comment as usual from you. Even more so now Geelong probably plays better at the MCG.

Let me make an even more "stupid" comment then...

Easier to prepare for the other 13 home and away games when you can play your 10 games on the ground you train on in second gear with your eyes shut.

2025 games played by Geelong at venues other than their two home grounds, the Costa Zoo and the MCG...

Rd 2 v Saints at Marvel LOST
Rd 3 v Lions at Gabba LOST
Rd 5 v Crows at Adelaide, Crows of a 5 break WON(of course)
Rd 10 v Port at Adelaide WON
Rd 12 v Eagles at Optus WON
Rd 18 v Giants at Engie LOST
Rd 20 v North at Marvel WON
Rd 23 v Sydney at SCG WON

What a frightening array of fixtures that was away from your two home grounds where you will end up playing the other 17 matches this season.

And you still managed to lose every loseable match from the 8 above.

Your argument is that our worst and most damning run of form anywhere was to go 5-3 in all away games apart from our away games at an away venue of your choosing.

Your argument is that we won as many games just at those venues that Richmond won all season at all venues but in 15 less attempts at it.

Well that’s just tremendous.

This is desperate stuff even by your standards.

Occam's razor: Geelong have simply been the best team since 2004.

We have 1 home venue. In the one home city.
