Geelong’s books must be quite complex if it took 6 years to conduct an audit. Hmmm.

The farm of a club associate...so they got close.

That employee was in charge of the books at the time. He was auditing himself..Former Geelong employee finds Geelong has done no wrongdoing.

But hey, let's not allow the facts to get in the way of the hysteria amongst posters.which former employee was that again?

I've said my piece as have others. Admins - can we get this thread locked? This is getting a bit silly.
and we'll lock it. Deal? The AFL don't even try and hide their own biased corruption
No current season stats available
As Ralph said. But hey, let's not allow the facts to get in the way of the hysteria amongst posters.
My Top 5 'WTF' posts thus far, and forgive me for paraphrasing some of the posts:
1. What Geelong did is the same as Adelaide's draft tampering and salary cap breaches in 2012
2. Former Geelong employee finds Geelong has done no wrongdoing.
3. The AFL don't even try and hide their own biased corruption
4. The AFL said Geelong has been systematically cheating for six years not one offs.
5. I've never been less surprised to be here. This is the Carlton salary scandal all over again.

Tippetgate was 200 thousand dollars over the salary cap.
Geelong was found to not breach the salary cap.
Do you get the difference? One club did not cheat the salary cap while the other club did cheat.
It’s far worse than that, I’m afraid. If I, an employee of the Federal government was to accept a gift like what the players did here, and was caught.
I would be charged by the federal police with fraud for corrupt behaviour.
The Army would place me before a Courts Martial, I would end up discharged, potentially in prison and the loss of my benefits.
But because it is ‘only a football club’, the corruption is laughed off as not important.
Be it bags of cash, cheap farms, TTP or gifts in kind; it all stinks to high heaven.
A NSW premier lost his job over a single bottle of expensive wine he failed to declare, but nothing to see here.
Would there be nothing to see here if a bookmaker had made these payments?
Nah, bombers did also. Hawks in the 80s, Roos in the 70s.Only. Carlton. Cheats.
Oh god you're right! Take away all the father sons on our list!Geelong has the most games played by FS players of any club in the league. Big a big margin.
So in reality it’s…Geelong rort the FS for decades and win flags off the back of it, benefit more than any club in the league…as soon as the FS retire and there is no benefit, complain that it’s unfair.
Clinical.
Is that what the article says? Maybe read itNo one mentioning that Geelong also got done for cheating salary cap 2012-2020?

Cats whacked with $40K fine for ‘inadvertent administrative error’

So they’ve been cheating the cap since 2012 through 2019 and then 2019 through 2024?
“We made an inadvertent administrative error in our TPP related reporting that has been repeated over eight years,” Cats chief financial officer Simon Kelleher said.
“As soon as we discovered this error, we advised the AFL. The AFL investigated the matter and have passed down the sanction. We accept the penalty and have thoroughly reviewed our processes to ensure full compliance going forward.” - March 5, 2020
