Geelong rorting the system

That’s like asking for proof the fox raided the henhouse while it’s still wiping feathers off its mouth. Good luck to Geelong landing Curnow now, the AFL will be watching every brown paper bag that leaves Kardinia Park.
It's a lot quicker to type "There's no evidence of a TPP breach".

Three first round picks for Curnow...1 each over the next 3 years.

This years will be what...around 20?

Next years...mid teens at a minimum.

Third year...closer to 30 by the time the Tassie picks are taken into account.

That is an offensive first offer.

I wonder who leaked it to Cal...was it Geelong to show that they are serious (deluded!) or was it Carlton being totally offended at the lack of respect and being treated as fools?
Geelong may finish bottom 4 the next 2 seasons as well.

If none of our b22 want to leave for carlton there isnt much we can do about it.

3x1sts is a record offer for a 30yo key forward coming off 32 goals..

Not sure what more we can offer up

Wasn't this supposedly just a routine audit that every club goes through on a regular basis? I'm sure I read that many times in multiple threads. Seems like the AFL went to a lot of trouble for a routine audit.

30yo? He hasn't even turned 29 yet

Excellent point. I wonder what could be found for a forensic investigation of 6 years of records for other clubs? Maybe somebody else didn't log a bottle of Shiraz or a few iPads. Scandalous.

Cats over the Cap again and continue to get slapped with wet lettuce
Same as the Lions getting fined for TPP lodgment errors.

Hard to throw stones when you're sitting in the same glass house as us.

Cats over the Cap again and continue to get slapped with wet lettuce
Lions supporter talking about anyone being over the cap is absoloute cinema

In 2003, Brisbane were fined $260,000 for late lodgement of documents relating to the contract and financial details of 26 players - All AFL supporters know the 01-03 flags are completely tainted

In 2017, the Brisbane Lions were fined A$10,000 for "failing to correctly lodge their total player payment information." Half of the fine was suspended. Dry lettuce leaf punishment for player payment breach

Grimes literally lives and operates and has done for the best part of a decade on a 100 acre winery which is a decent size by winery standards.

Hawkins’ farm is 170 acres. For perspective I grew up on a farm that my dad lived on for 70 years that was 250 acres. Depending what you’re doing on it, it’s easily enough to be a full time job if you wanted it to be.

Not really the point being made though.

I was responding to the idea you seemed to be suggesting that they give Curnow livestock to incentivise him to live there to take care of it or was I misinterpreting what you said?
Remember when Richmond lured Grimes from another club by handing him a vineyard and winery?

Oh yeah, that never happened.

I've heard when they go to the strippers, the stripper gives the player money.

Fancy restaurants let them pay with monopoly money.

The waves at the beach make themselves better on days they don't have to go to training.

Cars are fitted with transmitters giving them more green lights.

In church, they take from the collection plate, you'll notice the guy carrying it always looks away when he gets to a Geelong player.

Some TABs will pay them the win dividend when their horse places.

I even think the fish and chip shops slip them a few extra potato cakes in their orders.

All seems like petty stuff, but it all adds up

"I even think the fish and chip shops slip them a few extra potato cakes in their orders."

True story- I once saw the guy at the Torquay fish and chip shop give George Horlin-Smith an extra potato cake.

So why are you chasing him and offering 3x first Rnd draft picks? 😂
Its a gamble at the end of the day. He is contracted so the price goes up. I personally don’t think he is worth that much with his age and poor form this year, but the club is happy to take the risk. I imagine part of it is geelonh will be trying to force port into a scenario also where matching a bid for butters will make them worse off than compo pick if we have zero first rounders to give.

um, thanks. Not really at all relevant - your team rarely is at the moment - to what I was pointing out, but thanks all the same for your contribution.

P.S. I’m sure at some point between when he arrived at Richmond and now, he signed a new contract.

Can someone please explain to me how this is any different than the Kurt tippet saga? Genuine question. Is it a lesser crime? From memory tippets was all about disclosure too?
It was completely Different, Adelaide and Tippett were charged with "conduct prejudicial to the draft" and "conduct in breach of the total player payments provisions"

Hey if you can continue to get away with it no one can really blame you but that AFL House does nothing seems wired

My local does the exact same thing for me. I've never been declaring it either... :fearscream:
