If the media didn’t pick up the position for Scott and without the public outcry one wonders if it would of ever been looked at

Envy and paranoia, more so.
If he really wanted a 'Chief of Leadership and Performance' gig to prepare himself for life after football I'm sure he could have put the feelers out for an organisation which wasn't a club sponsor. Coincidentally it just so happened that the role was available at Morris Finance though. It really is absolutely laughable to think a coach could be paid directly by a club sponsor and it not go in the cap.

FTFYSo close to getting away with the rort. If it wasn't for those pesky supporters of the 17 other clubs smart enough not to publicize their rorts on social media

The simple and obvious solution would be to include all (and not just a portion of) payments for 3rd party deals with official club sponsors be included under the cap without exception - be it Chris Scott at Morris, Bailey Smith at Cotton On, or any other similar deals across the league which no doubt exist. That's of course not how the AFL want to operate.
Just discussing a football related matter in an appropriate thread on a football forum. Neither upset nor surprised. You seem upset?
You're welcome to fantasise as you pleaseI am pleased and yes, thoroughly enjoying your melt.
Shame you can't be recorded infront of your computer screen right now.
It would have drawn so many clicks on social media.
Overweight middle-aged man paranoid by a superior football club to his own![]()
Should a proportion of Bailey's deal with cotton on be included in the salary cap?Speaking of fantasies . . . Bailey Smith is looking mighty fine this preseason.
Hasn't lost any explosion or mobility after the knee reco.
Tell me Sentinel, am I dreaming?
Was it at WB?Should a proportion of Bailey's deal with cotton on be included in the salary cap?
Maybe Cotton On could sponsor the Dogs, too.Was it at WB?
Was a cotton on a sponsor of WB?Was it at WB?
I don't mean to attack you, but you've been whinging about all matter of topics lately. You doing okay? Was a cotton on a sponsor of WB?
I'm excited it's almost football seasonI don't mean to attack you, but you've been whinging about all matter of topics lately. You doing okay?
“his relationship with Morris Finance and Geelong” had been looked at, and it was “in the realms of the soft cap”. “It’s been dealt with that way,” Dillon said.![]()
Another half answer still leaves plenty of questions too.
Just beautifully handled by the AFL.![]()
With some of the deal being incorporated into the soft cap, the property steward at Geelong is probably taking a ‘pay cut’ and receiving socks stuffed with rolled up $100 notes.
Or what really happened was technically within the rules and the afl wants to obfuscate the loophole while they work to close it.If this was a real investigation and the AFL discovered something that showed Geelong were trying to rort the system then Geelong should be punished for that. If not then why is this now included in the soft cap? What changed.
What actually happened was the AFL were happy to sweep this under the rug then when it became public it turned into obvious bad pr. So they 'investigated' it and have now decided that it actually should fall under the soft cap.
Take your pick.Or what really happened was technically within the rules and the afl wants to obfuscate the loophole while they work to close it.
Geelong taking pick 2 and LDU as compo.Take your pick.
Is a loophole within the rules, or a way to avoid the rulesOr what really happened was technically within the rules and the afl wants to obfuscate the loophole while they work to close it.
