Most exec salaries are public.

The reason being that it is considered relevant information to shareholders and/or members.

The AFL isn't any different. I think there's absolutely a case that members of footy clubs should know the salaries of players.
There is no case that imo has any credible reasons as to why they should be released to the public.

Just because they earn good money does not make them "senior executives". Start listing player salaries and you will start a salary war with disgruntled players wanting more.

In what professions do all individual salaries get disclosed?
You dont think players (through their managers) know what each other are on???

I read somewhere there are about 100 player managers in the AFL. Do you think they share confidential player deals with each other? Even if they did its not out in the public.

Well seeing as 67% of AFL players are managed by the top 6 agencies, and many of these agents move between each agency, I'd imagine everyone within that profession would have a very good idea what players are earning and what their worth should be. So a meeting between an agent and a player would go along the lines of player x is on this much so on your next contract we think we can get you y.

Lol of course you think that
List a credible reason then.

They're not a government employee on our dime.

Should I be able to demand your name, photo and salary from your job be in the paper or on the airwaves?

Full transparency

It would finally shut up the gossip mongers IF Geelongs dealings are legit AND NOT CORRUPT!!!!!

I didn't say they were "senior executives".
No you said, "Most exec salaries are public" implying footballers are in the same basket.

Anyway, doesn't really matter. We can agree to disagree.

In reality we are legit and this is all about nothing.

Some real olympic level mental gymnastics going on ITT that the AFL would turn a blind eye for one club and not 17. That club isn't in one of their growth areas, isn't a powerful Melbourne club and isn't a good PR story.

All gibberish.

No I didn't.

I explained that Exec salaries are public because it's very relevant information to shareholders and members (like with a Super fund for example).

Exec salaries aren't made public for a laugh, it's because salaries of key personnel is important information in the context of an organisation's viability.

Footballer salaries are also important information in the same context.

It's not for click bait or gossip or 'public interest' - it's just very relevant information for club members.

The fact that the AFL's PR team can't even spin it speaks volumes. I don't think I have ever seen the AFL stay silent at the conclusion of an investigation. They're hoping it just goes away. Luckily we are here to hold Geelong to account.

Holding Geelong to account? For what? The police investigated one of their senior officers and cleared them. Oh, wait I mean the AFL investigated one of their senior coaches and cleared them. No need to spin, the season is less then 3 weeks away. All will be forgotten, if not forgiven. ;)
