What a win after a BOG ordinary first half.

12 goals to 2 in the 2nd half brought back memories of the 11 goals to 1 in the 2nd half the last time we played Port.

Hopefully we've played Jezza back into form.

Welcome back Jack Henry.

The Irish boys were sensational.

We ended this club in 2007. Complete mental disintegration of a whole club.
Since HT of the game at KP last year we have scored 312 to 117 in 2.5 games against Port.

Baz is our best player.
Jack Henry was a welcome inclusion. Mr Dependable.

Stengle seems to have found his groove in that second half so hopefully that’s the corner turned for him aswell

An epic win by our Boyz!

I thought the players would dig very deep to honour Adam + the Selwood family.

An exquisite tribute.

See the difference when Jeremy Cameron plays in the Forward 50... 7 goals 1.. Keep playing him in our Forward 50

That is an absolutely staggering stat.

After a tight first half with just 9 points in it at half time, it was great to see us take control in the second half pilling on 12.10 82 compared with Ports 2.3 15 - and then continue on with it as the game went on

And loved seeing Humphries get the the chance to celebrate and show pride in the guernsey that shares his story and that of his siblings

We haven't walked away unscathed though with Dangerfield & Bowes both going down with hamstrings early in the match - now to see how we replace them next week

I can't judge where we are at as the oppo had 2 on the bench in the 2nd half.
But I felt our defence was much better this week.
Better team effort to play field position and we will need that next week or the dogs mids will destroy us.

Danger is a big loss and no doubt they will rest him for at least 6 weeks now.
Duncan will be interesting I have no doubt they only wanted him playing 1/4 due to the 300th on Thursday. Can he back up on 5 days-would they make him sub in his 300th? If he can't then it's 300th in Perth which isn't ideal.
Definitely need Stewart back next week and we will have to consider what we do with the ruck options next week. Dogs will be a really tough opponent.

Full credit to Ken Hinkley. Said Port would slow it down in the 2nd half and true to his word their scoring completely stopped. :clapping:

Full credit to our mob for really knuckling down in the 3rd quarter after an utterly lacklustre 1st half - crucial to have secured those four points given last week’s lapse and this week’s early loss of Jack Bowes and Patrick Dangerfield.

The returning Lawson Humphries and Jack Henry stiffened the defense and our midfield - shallow though it is - continues to work their collective arses off to give us a chance.

Blicavs, Smith, Holmes and Atkins are asked to carry a big load; for mine we’re 1 solid midfield rotation away from really eyeing off big things. Regardless, they were equal to every challenge on Adelaide Oval this day.

The forward line lost a key figure in Dangerfield early on, and his injury along with compromised playing conditions conspired to constipate our attack early on. As is often the case, it was forward defensive pressure that unlocked things; disciplined tackling eventually had Port's defenders 2nd guessing themselves and that’s all it took for the likes of Jeremy Cameron and Ollie Henry to pounce.

By the last quarter the club had well and truly asserted it’s dominance, brutally illustrated early in the term when our mob collectively pressured, harrassed and worried Port backwards, backwards, backwards, forcing them from their arc all the way back to the centre of the ground, whereupon Brad Close executed a textbook smother before gathering.

From there he and Stengle waxed the ball until Jeremy Cameron was gifted a shot for goal. Delicious.

On an individual level, Ollie Dempsey’s 3rd quarter was electric; he has become the proverbial excitement machine over the past 2 seasons; highly watchable.

I’ve already mentioned the midfield’s excellence but Bailey Smith really went above and beyond yet again; he brought his energy when the game was stagnant early on and just kept on truckin’ all game long. Love the hunger, and the defensive side of his game was spot-on today too.

Port looked a broken club as time ticked on in the last quarter, threw the towel in before the final siren.

Nice to see Mitch Duncan quietly re-establishing his credentials in recent weeks; subbed on early today and played a very tidy game; ran well, efficient, put his head over the ball when he had to. Good luck to Mitch next week!

Think we've found a role for Mullin - he's had a real impact playing as a tagger twice in the past 3 weeks
