Trying to put a bit of normality back into our lives so doing this on the phone at Disneyland waiting for Rise of Resistance.

Needless to say .. we are vaxxed and still wearing masks and I never thought we’d have more covid freedom than at home.

Anyway.. waking up to the results this morning was also a pleasant note.

Now to this one. Dons at KP for 4 points - first time in 28 odd years.
A few changes at selection too that will have the natives mostly happy I feel.
We can make a nice rebound after the egg of last week - but we must be at our best and early and not give them a sniff.

They’ve already framed this as a chance to take a flag hopefully scalp - so they will come. Knock them off warmth and keep the pressure on.

We need the good Stanley to turn up and hang around and give us first use
Tommy, JEZZA and co the do their business, the miss running both ways hard and the misfits back to their best please.
It’s no Salmon v GAS - but let’s get it done

A bit of a political tone today... It sound like the ride you are waiting for.."Rise of Resistance".. is appropriate in so many ways... in a covid sense ...certainly in a football sense.

Obviously all will look at the speed of Ess and fear their speed , Id expect us to resistance to the idea of playing a quick open game. Control the ball. Control the game.

We look tired last week. I hope we are refreshed. Its time for a couple of players to return to so form. Lets hope its tonight.

You snagged a booking on RotR? Nice work! Heard that it was such a popular ride so bookings were bloody hard to get.

Anyway, looking at the ladder, reckon all top 5 teams could easily win this week, so from a ladder point of view we can't afford to drop this one, even if we don't go anywhere. If that happens, you'd think the top 5 would be locked in (well, spots 2-5 with the Dees on top) and it's just who gets which spot.

The changes are sensible. You feel they couldn't keep going with Ratugolea and I hope he gets a few weeks in the VFL to work on not just his form, but confidence. I want to see him back - but in the kind of form he had in the 2019 SF, where he was clunking marks and kicking goals.

Don't know if Miers is quite ready, but he's had two weeks in the VFL so at least he's not coming in cold. Happy to see Narkle in again... but please give him a decent run! How does he perform knowing if he has one down game (and "down" seems to be a variable level, depending on the player), he'll get the boot while others can just coast along.

Oh, silver lining for if the worst should happen: the Bombers will push the Tiges out of the 8... so yay?

Not political - just life as it is today - no left or right here - just my day and the footy later.

I'm expecting a more intensive effort from the Cats tonight than last week, the selectors have found the dump button and pressed it on Sav and Higgins that won't be missed by Dollshouse, If he's ever to play well in the hoops it will be tonight unless he's cooked he is now playing for his spot and should know it.
Holmes or Charlie as medical sub and it's 9.95 out 10 for the selectors this week.Cats by 20 points.
Only danger is Essendon getting off to a flyer.

Need to hit the game hard tonight - set the tone and standard for the remainder of the season. Bombers won't be a pushover, but it's a very tall order for a team that has never played for points at our home ground.

Really hope the crowd gets involved as well. Even with only 15,000 or so at the ground, there should be very few Bombers supporters in the house. So it would be great for the supporters to lift the team and get them up and going early.

Hoping we don't do a Richmond and lack the necessary energy to fight for this one. Hoping the Dons have a flat one after an impressive 4-5 weeks!

For all the glee that the Tigers' capitulation last night has produced around here, it can't be forgotten that it actually opens up the 8 to the Bombers (amongst others) right away. Hopefully last week's meek effort has our players primed to atone, no matter who the opposition might be.

Yes I hope it's a good Friday night game. However I have a feeling either the bombers are due for a flat one or the cats will looked cooked like the tigers.

If the Cat's lose this game, then I'd have to doubt they're capable of winning the flag this year. Yes, the Bombers are playing well, but if the Cats are a bona fide top 4 team, they should still beat them.

Cat Fight Tonight
Expected this to be a danger game, before the Cats went missing last week
Now the strays are all back home safely, fed and rested.
Trust the Cats will be more aggressive in defending their home territory.

3 Cats will be rested to ponder their previous performance.
Returning Cats Gryan, Quint and Rhys will be hungry for the contest.
A feral fight for the contested ball will establish dominance over midfield turf
The Visitor's quick movement will scare the Cats at times
A clowder of cats will be required to slow the flow into the D50
Where a tight clutter of Cat defenders will be ready and waiting.
There Cats will pounce on turnovers to whisk the ball forward
If Big Tom Cat and fellow feline forwards get a regular ball supply
The Visitors will be sent home to lick their wounds.
